This is simply a selfish mindset, no matter the rationalization.

It doesn't have to "hurt" them. When I make people wait, I have a problem with it. (particularly when it's just for my benefit)

Okay, what about school buses? My time is valuable and i get pissed whenever i have to wait for the school to go, esp. when i have to take a sh*t and/or hungry.
Either way, it's holding everyone up.

Public transportation. some people take forever getting on/off buses. With your logic, why should society have to accommodate them for not having vehicles? No one forced them to used public transportation.

LEO's - when officers/deputies switch on their emergency lights for whatever reason and start directing traffic, even though you have the green, isn't my time valuable? with your logic, why should i and society accommodate them?

If you are sitting at a light that just turned green and have the right of way, but you still have someone in a wheelchair in the crosswalk, that person is holding traffic up. with your logic, why should i and society accommodate them?

Anything that stops in the path of traffic is bad. (including school buses)

However, School buses mitigate this with flashing lights that are pretty high up in plain view. First yellow, so everyone knows that it's going to stop, then red so everyone knows it's actually stopped.

A more accurate comparison would be not with the bus driver who's job it is to stop and let out children, but rather with a selfish child that meanders forever slowly across the street while making everyone wait.....just for them.

and your mindset is that you care way too much of what others think.

I think you are confusing concern for other people's time with concern for other peoples thoughts.

Since people's time is such of a huge concern for you, let's say you're driving the speed limit, but the person behind you is late for work, and you're not going any faster to "accommodate" him, and time is of the essence. Since you are theoretically "holding" him up, would you consider yourself selfish?

I drive a work truck that's limited to 70MPH. I am constantly watching my mirrors to make sure that I don't slow others down.

With all the miles I drive, there are inevitably times when I am "that guy", but I try to make those instances as rare as I can.

People make mistakes on the road all the time. There's no way around that, we are all human. The issue here is the "they can wait" mindset.

Okay, so then let I guess most of us make the mistake of having the "they can wait" mindset because we don't want to damage our cars.....

None of us want to damage our cars. But some of us modify our cars to have "special needs" and don't give a $hit when it inconveniences others.

That is your take on it. I didn't say that I purposly go slow just to mess with others, and I do not go out of my way to inconvenience others for my gain. But, if I deem the situation needing me to slow down, I will. Steep entrances, speed bumps/tables, rough road, ect, then I will slow down and don't mind if others are honking/flipping the bird. And, my car is stock height so that is not a factor.

oh damn that sucks. no matter where i live, it has to have a garage. i live in florida so aside from trying to keep from my car baking in the sun, i tend to be protective of my belongings and i just need that peace of mind of being parked in a garage.
