chuckd05 10-16-2009 09:31 PM

i hit 154 in my old s2000 with the top down, it was fun... id say my g35 hit 145-150 a few times, z hasnt been pressed yet but i can tell this mean sob can top out at the governer with little issues... just finding a legal and/or long stretch of newly paved road to do it is the hard part.

JB1 10-16-2009 09:48 PM

110 on a highway onramp. There is a lot more left, but I'll save that for the proper venue, where my license is not at risk like a racetrack or airfield. Sometimes I wish I
still lived 1.5 hours away from the German autobahn...

My 370Z only has about 1500 miles on it now but I've started putting my foot into a little getting on the freeways. Yesterday I was getting on to a 2 lane highway and there was a huge truck loaded to the gunwales with tree branches and trimmings in front of me. Not wanting to get stuck behind it for obvious reasons when the light turned green I stepped on it and went through the first 3 gears shifting at about 6000 RPM, was into 4th gear and looked down and the speedo was above 90 MPH so I backed off. It happened very quickly I might add....

Lady Z 10-17-2009 10:47 PM

Just this week driving to work on Alligator Alley about 6am. The road ahead of me was clear, the music had a great beat...I hit 100 easy, 130 next glance, then 150 what a rush! I decided to back off before I saw flashing lights.

I dyno tune bikes for a living using a very well maintained 250i Dynojet dyno. No way 125 rwhp for a 636 on Dynojet dyno (would need motor work). 110 yes. Tuned over 60 of these bikes, 114 was the most. GSXR 750 will make 125 rwhp on Dynojet dyno.

StLRedrider 10-18-2009 01:33 AM

^ his bike does have alot of work done to it, he has it listed in the vehicles section of the useless thread, go check it out:tup:

Just looked at his mods. Sorry but K&N air filter, jumper mod, full aftermarket exhaust, PCIII with custom map (on 636) will not show 125 rwhp on Dynojet dyno unless it is a very, very generous dyno. Tuned two 2006 Kawasaki 636's yesterday with similar mods that were going to track last night. One made 110 the other 114. As I had said, GSXR 750 will make 125 rwhp. I do agree his 110rwhp would be true on Dynojet dyno, not 125. Thanks for telling me to look at his mods.

kannibul 10-18-2009 02:14 AM

I hit 120 going to redline per gear change with my 7AT, or thereabouts. I looked over after hitting redline in 4th I think, and hit the brakes. That was fast enough...

Now, on the highway, I find myself regularly hitting 90+ when passing someone/something. I've gotta find a way to turn my lead foot to gold, so I can have a stockpile of ticket money ;)

Steven 10-18-2009 09:39 AM

was 80'ish...

last night, broke 90

zomg ftw!

Thats according to the guy that tuned my bike. He's a tuner that travels the country tuning for a race team (i forget which one). According to him, he feels that on a Dynojet it would put down 125, but i've never dynoed on one. (which is why i said -ish in my post, maybe I should have posted all this story to go with it) I do have the dyno sheet for 110 though, but it's packed up in my storage unit. Take it for what it's worth...

fairladyZ34 10-18-2009 04:09 PM

one hundo, i still got less than 1500 on the odometer

Your bike is making the power it should. You've got a good bike!

Togo 10-18-2009 07:27 PM

Oh i'm not worried about the power it is making, I'm not Rossi so I can't utilize all 110RWHP on a track. :D Just wanted to clarify my comment on the 125, I have no proof it will make that much on a dyno jet, just the speculation of the tuner.

TBSS2008 11-04-2009 09:59 AM

Got my 7AT up to 148mph in 5th. I was planning on redlining just through 4th which was good to 120mph, then said what the hell shifted into 5th and just kept my foot on the gas. Was a blast, the 370z screams at high speeds I love this car! As far as drivability at 148mph was still good.

vehl 11-09-2009 12:57 AM

im quite disappointed i only got 265kmh (indicated), thought it'd at least get 275.. a cayman S can do that with less hp..

1slow370 11-09-2009 03:29 AM

I've pegged and cruised at that in the 370z for a few miles it fluctuated between 155-158. It's cool when the soft touch speed limiter hits hauls up to 155 then all of a sudden won't go any faster VVEL gets dropped down to limit your speed thats why people keep thinking the car runs out of power. Get your speed limiter removed if you don't think it'll go fast enough for you.

Stopped by an officer at 130 ticketed me for 120 cuz his laser was 3/4 mile out and thats the legal accuracy limit in WI and with the brakes on this car by the time i was .5 mile from him i was down below 80. Shocked the hell out of him when he saw how fast this car gets up and down from those speeds. Had a good conversation with him about it. They love bold faced honesty (pulled over right away) and i knew i was screwed anyway but i got myself out of a reckless.

Disclaimer: don't speed it's good way to lose your cat-back money

Pointman 11-09-2009 09:35 AM

Careful Gents,

Remember in many area's now, 30 mph over, and you get a free ride down town. :shakes head: Besafe and enjoy the Z, but be smart about where you decided to air it out.
