This powertrain will be able to produce 211 horsepower and 258 pounds per foot of twist. The hybrid model also has an electric motor. The other version that is available is the turbo charged three liter V6 engine that has plenty of power and it is able to churn out more than 400 horsepower. This engine will be coupled with a motor that is electric powered. The exact specifications for this model have not been announced so it is not possible to say precisely what specifications will be available in regard to the electric motors and their associated power outcomes.

The new Nissan Z35 2016 will be released at the end of 2015, most probably at the Tokyo Motor Show and it will be put into circulation in the year 2016. The projected price is expected to be lower than price of the 370Z.

seeing will be believing... i don't see how it could be cheaper then the current 370z with more power???

mind = blown

With what has been discussed prior, if Nissan splits the line into 2 engines the 4 banger (possibly turbo) will be priced up against or near the FRS while the V6 (possibly turbo/hybrid) gets pushed up market slightly.

i get the 4 being cheaper, but i thought it was referring to both of the models? i was saying i can't see the 6 being cheaper and having more power than now?

It won't, his "source" was probably referring to the overall price starting lower (ie the 4 banger) than the current 370z.
Nissan can not magically make a 400whp turbo v6 car for under 30k unless they strip it down completely and cut more corners.

jpkirk 03-06-2015 09:40 AM

However, it does need to be competitive in price/performance with the Mustang GT/Camaro SS. Just to get those guys of the the Z's back.

According to the Canada dealer notice, the lower price was on a 2016 stripped down Z34. If the new Z35 TTV6 with 400+ hp comes in cheaper than our Z34's. I'd be shocked but happy. Our Z34's would be worth a lot less but it would not cost much to upgrade to a Z35, so Go Nissan!!!

Don't think they will release the q60 coupe and z35 both in 2016. My guess is 2016 q60 coupe, 2017 z35, 2018 r36.

Hello everyone.

I know that over the past few months we have speculated, talked about, and argued over many rumors and leaked details over the very secretive new Z.

only details we have had to go on so far is some possibilities tossed in interviews from Nissan execs and the details of the 2016 Q60 that was shown. the details of that debut has given us all renewed hope and dreams of the next Z will/can offer.

now for the fun stuff:

last night I stopped by the Pittsburgh auto show for it's last night of the event. very nice to go last day since the crowd was very small and made it easy to navigate. and yes I know this isn't a bug name auto show and what could possibly come from it but you'd be surprised as to what you can hear from reps at these shows as well. I learned this last night first hand.

stopped at the infiniti area and was looking around. I made a comment as to why they didn't have a Q60 there mostly joking since again this isn't one of the top tier locations for auto makers and shows. the rep I was with went on to tell me they actually had one coming but due to the winter storms their truck hauling a few vehicles could not make it.

he then went on to tell me (off the record of course) that the Q80 is pretty much shelved for now and if anything it'll be a loooooooong shot 2017/18 idea.....if anything at all. I guess cutting into the GT-R market is still a big no no.

he also said that due to design stuff and some other issues we will be seeing a Z prior to the Q60 launch. so I would take from that comment that the Q60 is delayed at least a year now as well. also mentioned that the Z update has a chance of early 2016 release but most likely will be a fall 2016 if all goes according to plan.

the Z will most likely be TT since he smirked and asked "do you think you're ready for over 400 horsepower?" :excited:

I would assume with the few big car shows coming up we should be getting some new solid info on the Z very soon.

note: this was all just discussion between a rep. so please if anything doesn't end up being true remember I never said this is guaranteed. i'm just helping out the community with sharing info that was told to me. if not true then I am sorry and will be just as sad as the rest of you.

you sure ^he wasn't a Hyundai rep who just happened to be there checking out the Q-line???

DOOMMONKEY777 03-06-2015 09:09 PM

I think there is no Z35, its going to be the Sylvia's line, they call it iDx thing with a hybrid 4cyl engine and maybe an option of turbo for the nismo version, ye it will be cheaper but faster than those pesky brz's lmao

i actually rarely ever turn the a/c on during the summer. i always drive with the windows down if i'm alone. now there is that certain type of someone that will nag for the a/c to be turned on. that's when ejecto-seato is deployed lol

In GA and no a/c during summer? I lived in Savannah for 5 years and the humidity level at 100% plus the 98 degrees of heat made the a/c look like the best invention ever made by a human, even better than sex. I remember seeing some drivers with no a/c during the months of May thru August and I would wonder "how could they do it?"

yea savannah while beautiful is horrible with humidity. i was there for 2 days and wanted to shoot myself lol. i don't need it here because when it's the hottest part of the day i'm usually at work and when i leave it's bearable to drive with the windows down :D

Believe it or not, in my old G37 coupe I almost never used the A/C and this included days where the weather was up to 105 degrees and approaching 100% humidity. I only turned it on if I had a passenger in the car with me.

It is a habit I developed that goes back to the way A/C _used_ to sap HP from the car. I am fully aware that the compressor is turned off under hard acceleration in modern cars, but somehow I just got used to the interior of the car being really hot and it usually takes a passenger in the car to remind me that's not normal :p

Not with the Z, no chance. The floorpan gets well hot for me, need to either take shoes and socks off to drive or put AC , least facing floor to be comfortable. Especially with the FL heat...

This would seem to jibe with the Q60 report in this months Car and Driver. They talk about a twin turbo 3 liter that will do 400 hp. Nothing about, as I recall, being coupled to electrics though.

My guess is the 400hp version will be the Nismo.

Tadpole 03-18-2015 06:17 PM

They need to up the ante on horsepower to at least 450 or better. 400 Hp is laughed at now by the pony boys.

in the press releases the initial car on the infiniti side will have 400 and a sportier version (IPL) will have 450 the next model year. basically our 370 vs nismo.

sidenote 400hp boosted in a lighter car (Z vs fgt pony car) will absolutely smash that abomination that is a mustang.

njobe89 03-19-2015 07:40 AM

i dont see how they could make it lighter unless the price goes up to 50-60k

my comment was Z being lighter than a mustang.

the next Z will mostl ikely be the same weight or a little bit more depending on the engine weight.

dropping from a 3.7 to a 3.0 can save weight but as always with the ever growing safety concern there's always the addition of weight through safety upgrades.

well for sure lighter than the mustang lol but it would be a hope and a prayer to have a lighter next gen Z without jumping into a 50k+ price bracket.

A 400 hp turbocharged Z that's lighter then "the pony boys" wouldn't be laughed at. If the Z35 could stay the same weight as the Z34 then yeah the next Z would be faster then all 3 current ponys. Even maybe a M4 too. No way the Z would be 450 Hp way to close to the GT-R can't expect Nissan to jump up 100 Hp... when in history have they ever done that?

The Z31 Turbo to Z32 Turbo HP bump was in that neighborhood. Unfortunately the price jumped $10k at the same time.

nismo version will most likely be 450hp based on there being a 400hp and later 450hp version of the Q60 that was announced.

when these release you gotta think that the next GT-R will be out or soon to be out so the HP on that will be way up too. considering it already is at 545hp and the nismo at 600hp. if next gen GTR gets the hybrid boost it'll be up to 800hp total. probably 600hp engine and 150-250hp electric add on.

so a 400/450HP step down Z isn't out of the question. still will be a 200HP or so gap as the Z and GTR are around now.

njobe89 03-19-2015 09:12 AM
