I believe 'reasonable and prudent' was the law in Montana when they had no speed limit. But if there is a posted speed limit, that is the law, and you are on the wrong side if you are speeding.

I don't think 100 mph on public roads could ever be considered 'reasonable and prudent'. However, I'm not about to sit here and tell you I've never done it

Also, I do not feel that he deserved to get into an accident. But there are consequences to every action. While getting your Z impaled on a guardrail is probably pretty low on the risk assessment list, having a major accident is probably tops on the list. And that's what happened. No surprises here. If he was drunk and depending on his injuries, the accident might be worse punishment than the courts would give him. And at least he didn't injure someone else.

About 3 years ago,I got t-boned by some *** hat doing 70km in a 50km zone. He ran a stale yellow which he should of stopped for. There's definately a grey area when it comes to this subject. I myself get to where I want to go in a timely fashion, but there are a lot of people who speed that don't really have a lot of business being on the road in the first place and have cars they can't handle.
Friggin guy hit me with a kea forte too.

It's defined here in Arizona as "beyond reasonable and prudent", which is why we can get away with 75-80 in a 65.

It's not like I do it all the time. Sometimes I just want to actually enjoy driving. Otherwise I ******* hate it, but there's no other option here in this state. Mass transit is almost non-existent.

Haboob,

Have the reopened Arizona Motorsports Park yet? I know it was shut down for a while.

lol. I did google it, and found that they were going to close in like 2011, had closed with plans to re-open in 2013, and on their official website it doesn't mention anything. I didn't go Sherlock Holmes and open the track calendar or anything though. Maybe you can enlighten me.

edit: their track calendar is up and running and they are open. Haboob - you should check it out, it's in your town!

I think they have, as I've looked up driving courses (alternatives to the overpriced Bondurant) and they list that as a location.

Though, I haven't been by to see if it's open for public type use, etc. And as much as I would want to take the Z out there, I can't waste away my tires. Not in my budget at the moment.
