Speeding 370z driver skewered by guard rail in Irving, TX.

I'm skeptical that guardrail specs include safely stopping a 3200 pound car going 100 MPH - yeah, its probably supposed to crumple but freak things happen at that speed. He

I'm skeptical that guardrail specs include safely stopping a 3200 pound car going 100 MPH - yeah, its probably supposed to crumple but freak things happen at that speed. He could have been skewered by one of the guardrail posts; would we then be saying that those posts ought to break away in a crash?

You can bet there are some lawyers who will be willing to take the case cause the man was injured due to the guard rail.
