That's pretty much the way I feel about it. I just go out and drive a car for myself. I might use a magazine as a "guideline," but I surely don't bank on their word for how a vehicle performs.

That review didn't seem to bash the Z much. It's not a perfect car. I bought it simply because I like it, and it's the "new Z" to buy during the present times.

Back in '97 (when I was 16), my dad and I found a local seller who had a beautiful STOCK black '94 300ZX twin turbo manual. He was selling it for under $19k. My dad already had a black '90 twin turbo automatic, but we just wanted to check it out. If we had the money and the know-how to drive a manual, that car would stick with me till this very day (and never own a 350Z or 370Z).

Of course, I was only 16. I didn't think I'd be mature enough to own one. Seriously, though... I miss the feeling of the 300ZX. The 370Z comes close to it compared to the 350Z, but it's not the same.

Didnt mean to shout back. I havent had the pleasure of owning a porsche yet. Maybe after the kids are out? I agree, there are no perfect cars. But I own the most perfect one that I can afford. Love it.

The seats are also decent, with one difficulty. Leaning back against the headrests causes their metal supports to poke out from the seatback. It’s unpleasant for passengers who wish to relax on the road despite the noise and the relatively harsh ride.
For those of you laughing at this, as a Z owner I've definitely noticed the metal supports poking into my back when I lean against my headrest. It's ridiculous, and why eventually I'm putting BRIDE seats in.

I thought I saw in another thread this had to do with whiplash prevention. Been a while though, so I don't remember the specifics.

(Having been hit from the rear to the tune of $7K in damage and suffering no aches or pains after, I'd venture to say it works..)

Nissan could surely pad the seats better so that you still push back on the seat to pivot the headrest, but you won't feel each runner of the headrest inside the seat back.

I got a kick out of the line "in a pinch, the Z can hustle". WTF does that even mean? If the car is in trouble it can move, but otherwise it's just a slug? Stupid commentary and contradictory to the "smaller horses" beginning to his review.

Reviews are a "start" however, I don't really value them much good or bad. If I am investing in a car, I drive it myself and go from there so when people like or dislike a car it's their opinion so that is about as far as it goes for me. Personally, I could careless whether anyone else likes the car besides me since I'm paying for it :-)
