2015 Nismo

Not gonna lie... I do like the front on the black one. Here's a crazy thought: Body-color door handles. It's not 1972 anymore.

I really like the new Nismo. The front end feels inspired by the GT-R a bit, which I like. The smaller wing is nice. It certainly does look a bit more 'tame' compared to the 2014, but I'm OK with that. A loaded Touring + Sport + Nav + 7AT is like $43Kish (sticker). If a 2015 Nismo + Tech + 7AT runs $48Kish, then it's essentially $5K for a body kit and seats (assuming you're going to replace the exhaust and get a tune either way).

I really want a Z, and I think this Nismo might be my entry point into the series. I'll be the one with the 7AT and Tech package that the internet can say isn't a 'real' enthusiast.

I doubt it will cost less. The high price has been for the certified name brand, more than the manufacturing costs. By now Nissan should have recovered any R&D costs, and you can often find better engineered components for much less. It's the "prestige" of owning an authentic approved part -- not the authentic manufacturing price.

It's your money. It's your car.

People can say or think what they want: zero monetary contribution means their opinion is literally worthless compared to yours. If you're satisfied with what you're getting and it all works out in the end, great job. Cause no matter what you get or how you do it, somebody out there is gonna be a hater.

Great post. I've been thinking a lot of myself lately regarding the AT vs Manual. I think the whole argument should only be about fun levels. I find standard more fun to drive but I don't see it being faster then a auto. You can't out shift a machine IMO. A lot of drag cars use autos. With all this said when I buy my Z no matter the model, I'm going standard.

The autoblog post says the manual feels more responsive in 2nd and 3rd.

They also estimate a $44K sales price. I'm guessing that's the manual transmission without a Tech Package. Guess we're just waiting until Nissan stops stalling and pulls the trigger...

With a 3.90 final drive, I would hope so.

They're kidding me right? Unless they changed the Bose for this new model, it sucks. My 2012 Focus' audio upgrade pacakge sounded so much better than the Bose in My Z.

I hope pricing is not in the upper 40k range. I would stretch the budget and buy an Alfa 4c if that is the case. But if I do buy it, mine would be manual with no tech package. So I hope no more than 42k.

I'm just in for front end conversion info. I would probably get the red on the front painted another color gray or get CF put on. It looks like it would flow well with evo-r sides or amuse sides. Clearance looks like it would be good also since it doesn't stick out as far. Knowing Nissan the price for the front will be high.

Only speed upgrade is a different gear ratio, lol! I dont believe that the price is going to jump that much. Maybe for the first six months but that is it. Not enough thrills and spills to be asking $45k plus. If the Nismo had 390-400hp then they could sell these things for 48K all day long. Maybe it is due to the small platform. Who knows

Either way with all of the comfort features going into this new model I am sure that they are going to sell alot more Nismos. They do not advertise the Z very much to begin with. So when a new customer walks in and believes that he can have a Z with more performance (or so called per the salesman) these things are going to sell.

Long live the original Nismo Z. I bet there sells jump up for those tuner gear heads, looking to mod a car for the track and such.

I wanna wait and see what the final price is, before theorizing how the 2015 sales will fare. In the US there's an ongoing horsepower war going on, with efforts to make 600+ more "affordable" than ever. The insane Dodge Hellcat is going for $60000 IIRC, which seems to be a "throwing down the gauntlet" kind of marketing scheme against the Stingray.

Sure... the NISMO will certainly be cheaper than $60K... but how much? Some people in the US might just save and/or loan for the extra money to upgrade for an American muscle on steroids.

I don't think I saw it mentioned here, but if it was, my bad.

The car is now listed on Nissan's FUTURE & CONCEPT VEHICLES section.

Nothing we haven't seen or already knew is on it though...

I don't care how much HP they throw at a Challenger, it will never be a C7. Hell, if I had Corvette money, I wouldn't cross shop a Challenger. Apples and oranges.
