Now you are equipped with the knowledge required to SOAR with the Eagles and look down on all of the Sparrows... occasionally eating one when you need a snack.

I almost feel like going over to a Porsche forum and post a thread titled "Which should I get: 911 Turbo or Nissan GT-R?" since I feel so empowered!

I take a look at 370Z's when I see them. I always thought they were good looking cars. Now that I am pretty set on getting into one, more than ever. They look like $60K cars, not $40K cars.

so frickin true. The first time I went to a local euro meet here with my old GTR (had an MK V R32 prior), you should have seen the hate. I loved it. :icon17:

The best comment was actually from a guy there with an last gen SRT 8 jeep grand cherokee that kept telling me that his ride would smoke me off the line. He made sure to tell me this over the course of a couple hours at least 4 times. :icon17: Well, that and a few of the GTI drivers who kept saying how ugly it was. :rofl2:

One thing I've noticed about GTI drivers is that they only hang out with other GTIs... you never see them coming out to a general car show or anything. Fanboys to the maxxxxxxxx. :bowrofl:

DCNISMO 12-28-2011 08:26 AM

Similar hate happens with Ducati asshats when other bikes are parked next to them.......talk about max fanboys....they take the cake.

yes, they are..."enthusiastic" about their turbo rabbits. Funny thing is, I really like the gti, I think it makes for a great dd, as long as it's a lease and/or you have a warrantee, just like every other german car, it is high maintenance as the miles/time creep up.

at least the guys in ducs have something to back their fanboyism. getting hot over an expensive fwd turbo 4 is something else entirely

I definitely think they are nice cars, but the douchebaggery associated with them is a bit too much for me to handle.

that's how I feel about audis, bmw's, porsches, hmmm, I am starting to see a pattern...

PS--wifey said whenever she goes to the track, someof most down to earth nice guys are the lambo owners, and some of the biggest stuck up pricks are the ferrari and P car dudes. Obvously it's generalization since I know folks that don't fall into that stereotype but then again, stereotypes do have a kernel of truth in them or they wouldn't have evolved to begin with.

takeway: buy a lambo.

m4a1mustang 12-28-2011 09:27 AM

Thankfully I hang out with a good group of car guys on the weekends. Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, GTRs, Mustangs, everything... everyone just shows up for coffee on Sunday mornings and talks cars.

That is some good stuff. Hope the Cars and Coffee meets still happen once I get back to TX. They had a pretty good showing and everyone I met was pretty cool as well. Not quite the same as yours M1, but there were a few exotics present when I attended back in April........

Nice. I'll also be there in May till sometime in 2013. I would also like to check out those C&C meets.

roplusbee 12-28-2011 11:32 AM

I have only been to the Cars and Coffee twice (when it was in Austin), but there was a large turnout each time I was there. The rest of the time, I go to the meet near the Target in Harker Heights.....close to Fort Hood.

forza370z 12-29-2011 03:25 PM

I am from Mass, but my parents live in Austin(near Samsung HQ). I just came back from Austin, but what disapoint me is I didn't see a NISMO 370, not even a regular 370z. Where you guys usually meet and when? I might stop by next time when I visit Austin.

The last Cars and Coffee was cancelled due to weather, but there is a tread called Austin Events (link included) where the guys try and rally up the Z owners to meet up at the event. The tread has been pretty slow lately though..........

There were a handful out during xmas, but it's usually hard to spot 370s. I actually live off parmer and metric, which is near the Samsung hq. I haven't been to any meets, but hopefully soon.

LOL, only when the it's squid crap parked next to me. I recently sold a 08 1098S with all the farkles. Little more than annoying when some "novice" pull up and parks along side and they got a beat to hell 600 kawayamasuki. As soon as I get my Cobra finished, i'll getting a new Duc Superbike.

Mr. Mcoupe 12-30-2011 11:11 PM

I salivate every time I see a Nismo in my part of town. They are pretty damn good looking cars.

MsVogue 01-04-2012 11:06 AM

I have only had my nismo for about 4 days and people ask me the funniest things. "Is that a new Porsche?" Or they asume its my boyfriends car. -_-

I would just ask if you had a boyfriend...

A lot of people ask me "What is that?". My mom said it looked evil....

The sad/funny part is that they probably get disappointed after finding out it is a Nissan. :bowrofl:

roplusbee 01-12-2012 05:28 PM

They will be ok. Most of those types wouldn't even know a Porsche if they saw one, lol!

Rusty 01-12-2012 06:48 PM

Since I got the Nismo. Every male neighbor in the hood has come over when I'm out in the driveway, and wants to sit in it. Even some of the wifes too. LOL Have one neighbor who has a Mustang GT500 with a supercharger on it. He's always says how great his car is. Real pain in you know what! He's a total noob when it comes to other cars tho. He said that he has 550 hp in his Mustang. Then he ask how much the Nismo had. I told him 555 HP just to B.S. him alittle. I wish I had a camera at the time. The look on his face was priceless! Didn't know 5hp meant so much to somebody like him. LMAO Didn't even have to bait the hook.
