Default New to the Nissan way of life....I'm starting with a 2010 370Z Red Nismo

Just wanted to stop by and say hi....I officially bought a 2010 370Z Red Nismo yesterday. So far I just drove it home from the dealership and parked it in the garage. Washed it, clayed it, 1 coat of Autoglym Super Resin Polish, 1 coat of Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax/sealant, and a final coat of Autoglym High Definition wax. The car didn't need polishing (surprisingly....the dealer detailing hacks didn't get a hold of it). But of course I told them not to wash or prep the car for devilery.

Anyways, I live in the Dallas Texas, and coming from a very active Mitsubishi Evo club (North Texas Evo Club....NTEC), hopefully I can find an active 370z club to join in the area.

First planned mods are an exhaust and intake...of course I still need to do research through the forums to find out which products are the best bang for the buck.

Soooooooo.....................HI

Welcome, and congrats on the new ride. You'll find that HFC's are also one of the more popular mods to start off with.

Is there anything wrong (less power) with test pipes instead of HFC, except the law issue?

Coming from a turbo car....EVO X....a test pipe was your best friend. I'm not to sure on a normally aspirated engine....especially the sensitive nissan engine.

There is an additional HP or 3 using test pipes but you also get additional exhaust volume with them. If your thinking about going down the turbo road it would be worth it. I picked up some berk HFC's and have been real happy with them. Be fore warned there is a "bi*ch bolt" on the stock drivers side cat thats a big pain in the *** to get out. There are several hundred comments on the forum about this particular bolt.

Thanks for the heads up...I think I remember reading a little about it somewhere on these forums.

If that doesn't sound like the perfect word for final delivery, I don't care if it's a typo.

Oh, and welcome!

Well, as good as it sounds, and how perfectly it fits, it was a typo, sometimes my fingers can't keep up with my brain.

Pics will be posted tonight. I had to keep the car in the garage to help let the sealants and wax "set".

Glad to see you EVOlved into a Nismo. Enjoy the ride and snap photos of that puppy. (not that we don't know what it looks like already)

Not to turn this thread into something else as I think it's fitting for a Red Nismo owner.... but why didn't Nissan add a little of the Nismo red to the shifter? Perhaps the shift pattern stitched in red or something. My solid black shift knob annoys me!

Congrats and welcome. If you haven't already make sure you check the suspension thread in my signature.

Although someone did mention on my post that Nissan appears to be sending new instructions on removing the spacers on Nismo's. Let hope the knuckle heads took them off.

You might think of better oil temps like I am in these hot areas (mid Florida for me). Theres not an oil cooler for us yet. Our front end wont work with the one the 370z cars can uses. Jim Wolf Technology Releases Oil Pan Spacer for 370Z-VQ37VHR is what Im thinking of on the 370z.com > Home, magazine site,
