Not only that but also the factory fit and finish look better than 99% of aftermarket parts. Even Stillen parts has fitment issues that I would never want to deal with.

I love the nismo rims and body parts. I wasn't a big fan of the whole fang look in the front. That was the biggest reason why I bought it over the base model. In my opinion the nismo rims looks the best and most aggressive with the nismo body. No other rims looks and fits so well with the car. I would never give up my stock rims for aftermarket rims.

The car looks great but seriously... What do u expect the parts I list to make the car look like? A piece of ****??? The modded Z will look a's good a's any nismo car. Take a look at some nodded z and tell me a nismo is better.

The warranty factor of all of this is true but the parts I listed shouldnt effect drive train warranty. Like I said, nismo is a good car but I turned one down because I didn't see the value in my personal opinion. I felt that a regular z could become more than what the nismo had to offer

I agree with everything you wrote, my main issue was the fangs as well, then i saw the looks of the nismo and i knew what direction i wanted to go in. besides, even if you wanted to buy a kit and do all aftermarket, its just a hastle to do so imo...

I think the majority of Nismo owners go for it mainly due to the looks. And for the price difference, it would make sense to get a nismo. Where I live, the cost difference was like $5,000 (over sport package which I wanted), to get a kit, painted, rims, tires... you would be over $5,000...

Either way, you could argue this all day long and i do understand both sides of it, but it really all just comes down to opinions...

One point to make is that since, I've modded my share of cars over the years and have learned this lesson first hand. Any non-factory mod's you add to the vehicle actually decrease the value.

Future resale and value of a collector is there on a Nismo, where on any other base + mod's don't plan on ever seeing any of that money again. You have to revert it to stock to recoup best return.

Aftermarket always gets better, therefore any part you add is worth less in around 5+ years expect cents on the dollar.
Where as a stock Nismo will be worth the most.

I get so frustrated seeing where folks call "spending money" on their rides as an investment.

Oh, I spent 36k on my Nismo! So, that math you used earlier to calculate what you could build using inferior parts get's even worse off over time.

The resale of the nismo is the best either. See what a used 09 nismo gets. The reduction in price is almost as bad as a base depreciating. Used nismo over used Base...depreciates more. The factor of nismo parts being on the car does no good. U still see deprecation just like any other car in the world... EXCEPT AN ENZO cause that was an exception lol 600k now worth 2.5 million.... damn....

also what inferior parts? Stillen? HRE? yea right... i see nismo owners selling their wheels for 3 piece forged wheels. THATS CRAZY TALK IF YOU THINK NISMO WHEELS ARE BETTER THAN 3 PIECE FORGED WHEELS....NO WAY.... anyways... if your in the market for investment than the NISMO is a FAIL.... It loses your investment just like any other car and its not even like NISSAN used the best parts possible. They are SEMI OKAY....

BASE DEPRECIATION ON MANHIEM CAR AUCTION:

For Week Ending Dec 22
Above Average Below Oct 2010 Jun 2010 Dec 09
Sale Price $26,136 $24,185 $22,234 $24,463 $27,216 $0
Odometer 8,441 16,881 25,322 13,476 10,108 0

NISMO DEPRECIATION ON MANHIEM CAR AUCTION:

$27,000; MILES11,379
$29,600; MILES 12,183
$30,500; MILES 4,200

you will love 10k the first year on a nismo when they run 38-40k NEW

you will lose 3-5k the first year on a base when they run 29-34k NEW.

Voiding the warranty is HUGE! The nismo says 40k but in sports cars they increase the price from 5-10k because of warranty. If you add the parts yourself you void the warranty and technically "lost" your money due to warranty.

actually modding your car does not void your warranty. NOtice i didnt include twin turbo or supercharger. The items listed above do not void your warrenty. If your motor blows...it has nothing to do with exhaust and oil cooler and wheels and kit. Same with tranny. What else do you want covered? If the paint flakes, then they can test the body part and see whether you have painted it over. If your doing the new bumper lip and your roof starts to crack its paint ITS COVERED... what isnt covered????? urban legands

also I had the opinion of getting a NISMO and trust me, no person that has a nismo has found it near IMPOSSIBLE to find one... The NISMO is a 370z with NISMO PARTS. BIG DEAL not worth 10k xtra.... Funny i can get a used nismo with 27-31k but the used z are 23-29. A guy interested in buying a Z could by a slightly used nismo over new 370z for the SAME AMOUNT but chances are he will notice the depreciation and say ill get the non nismo instead.

I do not like nismo parts except my nismo black shifter knob. Everything else is overrated and OVERPRICED.... not crappy just not the best for the money. And thats an agreement everybody can agree on unless your crazy and think NISMO parts are gods picks are #1

Thats a VERY broad and subjective statement and I would feel very comfortable saying a nismo is better. But I am hardly objective in this.

I finally got a chance to address this post.

You cannot compare the Authentic Nismo kit with the longer nose front bumper and upgraded diffuser, sides, full rear bumper, and spoiler to any replica kit. The NISMO will still carry alot of it's value for years to come, the replica not so much.

Front Bumper with diffuser - $800
Sideskirts - $500
Rear bumper - $800
Spoiler - $900

Paint - Front bumper $300-$400, sides $300, rear $400, install for all three $200 typically what you will pay from a quality shop.
($1,300 at least total)

The rest of the items you were missing, and should also be highlighted because they are important to nerds like me.

-Akebono Brakes Typically $1,800 to $2,000 installed

-350hp engine Would take an install of intakes and exhaust to get close to this level. Currently $1,400 for quality parts of either

-NISMO-tuned dual exhaust with H-pipe configuration

$1,400 to purchase separately with $300 for the H-Pipe

-Nismo branded seats Would have to be custom made ($400+ per seat)

-Nismo floor mats $75

-Nismo Tachometer $700 - $800

-NISMO smooth leather-wrapped steering wheel $300 to get wrapped by an upholsterer

-NISMO smooth leather-wrapped shift knob $150

-NISMO signature red interior stitching $300+ from an upholsterer

-NISMO-tuned suspension with increased spring, dampening and stabilizer rates - $1,000

-NISMO reinforced 3-point front strut tower brace $200

-NISMO front and rear performance body dampers
- $400 each = $800 total

-SynchroRev & VLSD (included) $1,400 for VLSD by itself

--Special Edition RAYS wheels - $3,000

If you had built your car to the level of what the NISMO already includes (like I have tried to do with my Z33) it becomes a better value to just buy the NISMO instead and add a few mods afterwards IMO
