if you were to get the NISMO appearance package and parts... Im not trying to show people how to replicate a Z into a NISMO.... the parts listed above are ENOUGH to surpass the nismo engine and performance.. Once parts installed spend one hour on tuning (100-250 dollar) and the car will be tuned to those parts and perform WAY BETTER THAN nismo. NIsmo engine, if im correct, are the same motors in the 370z just TUNED a bit more.

The Nismo 3grand wheels or 3-4 grand forged wheels like venaci, asanta, volk, forgestar..I would pick those but again major opinionated.

The brakes on the NISMO are better than factory base but 2 grand if bought separte at which rate i would spend the extra 1500, since IM obviously a brake fan and buy a better set of Big brake kits for around 3500. Obviously higher numbers in pistons and size can cost 3 grand just for front and 3 grand for back, even more but comparing to the nismo brake setup the rotera "spelling" or other brands out do the akabono.

You can find a brand new nismo anytime anywhere? Granted if you want to travel or ship it I suppose you could. Where I'm at there are only 3. And you must have the luck of the irish to have good shops all over the place, with professional people that will take care of your car like it was theirs. How much down time is that anyways for all those mods... We all know its not a huge difference in greatness over a regular Z but it is a little better for the stuff you do get, hence the price and yes there probably are other parts that are better than the nismo parts but its a complete package. Not this part from this place and that from that place. Like stated before you can add all the better parts to your base Z and it won't be worth anything. You may have a better handling or faster Z in the end but you will have wasted even more money because the aftermarket parts you did throw on aren't worth a flip when you go to trade or sell. WE NISMO owners KNOW a better faster car can be had and they should have made a bigger difference which I'm sure would have cost even more $$$. But for what it is, with what it comes with...... We didn't over pay for just a body kit. Again is the nismo worth it....YES. Is it for you? That's something else.

seriously... guy that started this topic.... give me the money and I will show you how the modded Z wins.

I will base the appearance on a survey of 100 random folks,
I will base the performance on a track and Drag strip
I will compare strength of products and maximum potential.

VIP Status's car, which is a modded Z, has the same kit i listed, rims are valued around 3K and I THINK that car looks better than a NISMO, minus the graphics because its not my cup of tea.... i think that's how the saying goes.

NO WAY NISMO is winning. Considering the fact NISMO owners have earned the name by buying NISMO cars says that all of you are in favor that the NISMO was worth the additional cash over the other Z packages so obviously your motivate was more than a car that looks cool. You wanted something MORE than the average Z owner... You paid an additional 10k for a car you expect to be grand but in terms of money spent your dollars could have beneifited you else where. If I had to choose from a 41K nismo, or a modded 41k 370z. I would select the one that out performs and in that case....DING DING DING, modded

I want a NISMO owner, year 2009, to take his car to a dealer and see how much you get? A modded Z gets no additional value on parts but you can do MUCH better selling your parts, place factory back on...MAKING MOST of your money back from the mods and selling car in the views of a dealer. Nismo... you lose much in depreciation, cant sell your parts off it since its a nismo and has to have the nismo parts over-wise its value lessen even more.

Whats sad.... a good percentage of NISMO owners dont even keep there car the way it is suppose to be when purchased and begin to mod it out..... SO u paid 10k extra and then changed those awesome wheels that all the NISMO guys on the370z.com love so much and you upgraded your brakes to the Akebono, which were used on 03-07 g35 and 350z...... but why??? cause they SUCK.

The dealer makes car mats, warranties, protection, opinions and etc SUCH A RIP OFF... dont you think that the same car with semi better parts is worth the 10k when they get those items for MUCH LESS? There ripping you off just like they did when they tried to sell you the 100 dollar key chain or 150 dollar carpet mats.... Your getting ripped off even more with a nismo that a dealer, which HALF the people here insult, recommends is the best way to mod your Z. They sold you that line and now your wondering how 40k last year turned into 30k today. AND YOUR PAYING INTEREST RATES ON THOSE NISMO PARTS lol... BORROW MORE AND PAY BACK MORE ON NISMO PARTS IS SUPER

I sound like a NISMO-racist.... but just felt like the NISMO guys posting things like "u wish you had selected one" is self centered. To think, I was able to by a 370z but not able to buy a nismo due to limitation or finances.... I could have choose among two nismos but decided that the car would be modded and not worth the investment.

Stillen Exhaust 1262
Stillen gen 3 intake 550

that 6k i said you save........by a set of HRE's. THose are better than NISMO wheels. 3 piece forge wheels can range from 3k to 10k. You can spend 41k on a nismo OR 41 on a HIGLY modded 370z. Fitment issue is NOT a big issue with all kits and SHOULD THERE be a fitment issue I referred to the SHINE parts, which shouldnt cost much to fix SHOULD THERE be an issue. Nismo test there products, but hey, so does STILLEN. Say nismo outperforms stillens and I know this topic is dead.

I purchased my car for 29k NEW, carpet mats, splash guard PLUS tax......New Nismo is close to 39k plus tax. I didn't calculate tax for either above so the tax balances off.

29000+2030= 31030

39000+2730=41700

that's 7% where I live.. So 10k difference. Name something on the Mod list that I disclosed that NISMO surpasses it? Nismo doesn't even included MOST of the items i listed and many nismo owners mod up there car. So its just my .02 cents but I have to agree with FL 4 motion. This is kinda like Democrats and Republicans..........Both good agreements but both sides valid.
hey buddy, you should just give up. you've been arguing the same points for the last few months. we've already gone over this time and time again. not only does your grammar make your posts incomprehensible, you fail to realize pricing is not set in stone. as ive said in my other posts, i got my nismo for farrrrr less than 39k before taxes. mileage may vary for everyone of course.

this thread has run its course..

thats why you sell the aftermarket parts on the FORSALE section . You at least make 30-70 percent of your original investment back.

also if you were to buy all the parts at the same time, IM definitely positive the company could slide a discount or deal in there for you considering the extent of the products your purchased.

The items I listed I all bolt on and that means BOLT OFF. So at the end of the day, say you spend 10k...you may get back 3-7 grand depending on condition. Lose value by standard depreciation which is less in a Z than a NISMO.

Buy a set of Venaci wheels for 3-4 grand and you can easily get 2500-3000 back. Of course your going to say, why mod the car knowing your going to lose 500 to a grand on the wheels....SAME THING I ASK NISMO OWNERS...why spend 40k and then a year later its down to 30k. Ratio is WAY MORE but I guess the modded Z loses yet again against the monster NISMO.

imo, if you have to ask that question, it probably isn't worth it to you.
those who think it's worth it don't ask that question, they would just buy the car

Why didn't you just buy a mustang or camaro then? They can pull 1g on the skidpad easily with a little modding and the power mods will definitely give it the power boost that our Zs would love to have.

I strongly believe the nismo is well worth the extra cost. The nismo of course looks much better in my opinion than the base. I would of NEVER bought a base considering how ugly the fangs are.

As for the self-centered comment... you know you are in the nismo section... it isn't like this was posted in the regular threads just for everyone's attention.

I have another question though... Do you think the sports package is worth it?

Oh yea, as for the nismo being 39k. I actually got it for 37k before taxes and all the other BS.

i did think the sport package was worth it but not needed. Since the extra $$$ was only for the brakes, navi, and a few others.. The Rev Match thing is a plus but I didnt figured me rev matching it on my own was a little bit more fun . IF the nismo came with leather, stereo was better.... THAN YES... I Would say its worth it... Considering thats the flagship Z, you would assume nissan would include but they didnt. Just added a list of performance parts that I believe should have been altered since the leather and stereo werent included. But oh well.... and I am only in the section because the main forum had it listed and I couldnt resist....

IF I saw a NISMO brother or sister.... I WOULD HUG you like family lmao....bridge the gap I say

PS: I have enough sense not to buy a camero or stang lol. Old car 350z, now 370z.... cant say my selection of cars separates me from this forums crowd

I am trying to bring reason to the unreasonable, my post throughly gave a good reason to purchase the NISMO and you're just rambling.

Again I will reiterate that the value of the whole for what is included in the NISMO package is greater than what you could get from trying to replicate the same in mods thus if you are looking to buy a COMPLETE car that is tuned from the factory the NISMO is the way to go.

You know you wish you got a Nismo. J/K, Just had to throw that in there. We are not boasting about being able to purchase a Nismo were someone else couldn't. We are tired of people like you who say " we got ripped off " " We coulda shoulda " " For the money we coulda got this or that " Yes we understand all that. Good for you for getting your car for $29k and doing the mods you've done. And I'm sure you enjoy it and think it's worth every penny. But all the money you spent, again is not worth ANYTHING. When you go to sell or trade it's not worth anything. Which do you think is going to have more appeal a Nismo or a 370Z that someone modded. To an individual if you find that right person, may go for the modded vs Nismo. But more are going to go for the Untampered Nismo in a resale market. And taking all the mods off and trying to resale all those parts? What fantasy world do you live in where you think there is a vast amount of people that will pay top dollar for used parts for a 370z. You're stretching. Trying to justify your regular Z. NO ONE, EVER said a base Z is an unworthy purchase. I paid 37k for my Nismo otd. The Touring model that I looked at was 39k otd. Leather, auto, nav the whole nine. and I was seriously going to get it with all the options it had. There were many things that swayed me to the Nismo its not overboard with the mods to make it look rediculous. And to me and everyone I have come across say it is a great looking car. Better looking than a regular Z. Is it worth it........YES. Is it for you?

I know what your saying but you have the assumption that Im replicating the NISMO... The parts I listed SURPASS the NISMO. The NISMO Z does not set the bar for Z owners modding there base models or sports. The stillen headers, test pipes, exhaust, intakes, short throw, pulleys, tuning, 3 piece forged wheels, springs, EVEN OIL COOLER are things that even a NISMO can benefit from but yet those arent included. Some parts are similar but again a stillen 3rd gen intake and nismo intake may be the same to most folks but NISMO enthusiast and other car dudes know that the Stillen is a better setup over the nismo. Same with brakes and other parts. No one nismo part is ultimate or highly selected part among people looking to mod there cars. Some like to replicate but most Z owners choose to take there money and invest in BETTER parts as they know any part NISMO has on the car, can be purchased else where and perform similar or beyond expectations. Considering nismo shoppers want more than just the simple base or sport Z, i think its fair to say NIsmo owners care about the additional performance hence the reasoning behind the nismo purchase. All im saying is the you can spend the same amount of money and out perform the nismo package.

You're missing the point, it's a limited edition FACTORY tuned car.

The thread is titled is the NISMO worth it? Yes it is from what I and others have proved, can the performance be outmatched, yes it can. Can the performance, and exterior and extensive parts list be outmatched for the same value NO!!

well most people that mod there cars know not to trade in with mods. Usually people can sell most, if not all, there parts. Theres a market for people that want that stuff so selling it isnt impossible. If you scroll through the forsale section, most of the items on there or have been sold have seen return, not 100 percent, but nothing EYE DROPPING below 30-40 percent. Used intakes, exhaust and etc. Somebody buy a stillen exhaust for 1200 grand and I PROMISE YOU can sell it for 50-70 percent return. 600-800 on a used exhaust. Quick sell, make 50 percent back and sell for 600 and thats a DEAL

Anyways....im going to call it a tie
