V1 Nismo's appreciation?

Hey all!

Honestly just opening a discussion to whether or not the Version 1 Nismo's are appreciating or not. I own one and was just messing around online and see that a lot of the V1's are being bought left and right and their prices increased by 3-5K?! Do we think it will continue to appreciate over the years? (obviously slowly) And may become a JDM classic? Open to all opinions! :icon17:

Are you saying they should go up in price because they were only made for 5 years?

Yeap, they made 1000 a year. So there were 6000 made. All with number plates.

Cars are worth whatever someone is willing to pay to get one. Appreciating cars are few and far between. Even the Ferrari guys know this. Apart from the air-cooled Porsche craze, which I think is more of a cult thing than the car being that good, I don’t think our cars will be significantly appreciating any time soon. Of course, this will heavily depend on several important factors such as if there will be a next generation and what it will be like.

The NSX and the Supra are good examples of this. The original NSX actually appreciated in value once the new NSX was released because it was basically a computer on wheels and had nothing to do whatsoever with the old NSX’s pure sports car experience. This was the same situation when the new BMW Supra was released for the obvious reason, it’s a BMW.

Soooo........it’s hard to predict what will happen to V1 and V2 Nismos in the future. It’s a question of supply and demand and most of all, desirability versus any new gen Z (if there is one).

S2000 are worth more now than they were when new. Some cars just have a novelty factor. Volkswagen beetles from the 60s and 70s for example.

Just think if you had a '70 Hemi Cuda Conv with a manual. Only 3 made.

Had a friend back in the late 70's early 80's that had a 1967 Dodge Coronet with a Hemi auto, bench front seat. Wonder if he still has it? Another friend has an Ex Sox&Martin '68 Hemi Road Runner manual. Last I heard, he still has it. I could of had this car too. :shakes head:
