V1 NISMO all the way! Looks was deciding factor. Still get compliments from random people.

Here in Europe only in the year 2014!

the answer is no....

the few Japanese cars that actually appreciated over time (from the bottom) are the first gen NSX and Mark IV Supra. The ones with very low mileage and in pristine original condition. The modified ones worth a lot less.

Hey all!

Honestly just opening a discussion to whether or not the Version 1 Nismo's are appreciating or not. I own one and was just messing around online and see that a lot of the V1's are being bought left and right and their prices increased by 3-5K?! Do we think it will continue to appreciate over the years? (obviously slowly) And may become a JDM classic? Open to all opinions! :icon17:

:iagree:

I personally preferred the more subtle of the Z with sport/touring options.

The performance difference is a non factor for me.

And you know why Nissan does that? Because there are people who will pay more for those distinguishing features. Even if they are not that great and easily copied. The market is there.

Regardless of your feelings on the matter, a stock Nismo is a liability just like 99.9% of all cars. There is some extra value there compared to a non-Nismo Z, especially to certain buyers. But the Nismo version appreciating in value is a laughable thought.

Go see how much a 240z, 260z, or 280z cost. You will be surprised. Ones in good shape with everything cost a mint. Modified or not.

Same goes for the B210, s2k and Evo! Hell the cost of new Subies are driving the price of older models up.

I am sure the first gen Z's worth quite a bit. they are 2 decades older than the nsx and supra.. there are probably very few remain as they get rusted out easily. Had one long ago and loved it.

Don't really follow the collector market... are they going for 6 figures now?
