I get brake checked by people on the daily even if I am going slower than everyone else. I never tailgate and always leave a 3 car length distance.

Wait til you have them pass you on the right, merge back in front of you, and THEN, brake check you. LOL, Never a dull moment. I just have to laugh.

Lots of Comments

I have had my 2016 Nismo for about 6 weeks now. And I get "OMG" comments/looks multiple times a day. While on a recent trip to my home state of Arkansas, I was getting gas, and this very old lady (in her 80s) leaned over from the opposite gas pump and gave me a thumbs up and said "SHARP!". And while at a fast food restaurant, this redneck comes in and asks if that was my Z, and asked if it really said 180 on the speedometer. I actually didn't even know, and had to go check myself.

LOL, it happened again this morning. Jumped on the interstate and it was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Tried to take my rear bumper off and then tried to take my front bumper off. I was cruising at 82, guess that wasn't fast enough. I hate idiot drivers.

I had to meet with a resident today, as part of my job. First thing the 60 year old guy says to me is "how do you like that thing?"

Me: "Love it. It's a joy to drive"

Him: "They must be paying you too much over there"

Me: "Nah, I just don't have kids"

Him: "Oh yeah, I hear you. What kind of Porsche is that?"

Me: :bowrofl:

Me: It's a Nissan 370z

Him:  :eek2:

I feel your pain, I fear that this may be my reaction one day, maybe PTSD might kick in or something I don't know, but I have zero tolerance for idiots and unsafe drivers on the road. I am too old for road rage and petty ignorance.

Usually I stay humble and slow down, especially since ten times out of nine, the vehicle they are driving is well...not anything to boast about..They way I look at it, no matter how much money someone puts into a car to make it fast....at the end of the day it is still only worth as much as its title ex. 500 HP Civic is still a Honda Civic IMHO.

After studying at the campus I come out to my car and apparently there was no where else in the entire campus parking lot to park so this person decided that parking next to me was their best option:ughdance:.......notice the Gunmetal Z to the far left of the pic had no problem finding a parking LOL

All in all I enjoy every minute of the Nismo, and honestly the 17 PW I am in now gets ten times more attention than the 09 SR Nizzy did, plenty of compliments and people mistaking it for a Porsche. For me its never a dull moment when driving my car, and that is one of the many great features of driving a 370Z period.

human being are herd animals, they will park where you are to join the herd, it is instinct

it is also instinct for the herd to attack and destroy anyone who is not in the herd so if the parking lot is full and you park away from the herd someone will get mad and attack you, always park around others to avoid problems. the best way to get keyed or car kicked is to park away fiom the herd which makes the instinct to attack happen. if the parking lot is empty it is ok to park anywhere but when you come out others will park next to you becaus they are joining your herd

^^That's some logic!

the negative attention is not justified but should be expected.

i learned the hard way and sold my 2014 nismo for this reason.
the decision maker for me was having someone in an old pickup truck staring at me in his rearview mirror for over a mile on a 1 way highway. I wasnt tailgating by any means and knew he was staring because of the looks of the car (i was used to the attention by this point and had already been keyed). Then he slowed down about 20mph until i did close to him so he could empty his ashtray full of cigarrette butts and ash out his window directly onto my car.
I pulled off the road and realized it wasn't worth it, it was a no win situation taking the abuse or reacting to it.
car sold for a 14 thousand dollar loss after owning it for about 5 months.

a few hours before that i was waiting in line at a starbucks drivethru and had some guy glaring at me from the outside seating area, next thing i know he's gotten up walking directly behind my car to look to see what kind it is I guess then walks back and sits down while still meanmugging me.

a few days before that have some young kid trying to look hard in his mid 90's civic fly by and cut in front me almost clipping my front bumper pebbling my car with rocks and dust. we get to the light, i see him trying to say something to me and motioning to me so i roll down my window to hear "you feel my dust bitch?"

So what your telling us is a bunch of punk haters made you whimp out and sell it?:rofl2:

Just thought I would add this nice comment I received earlier:

I am from Chicago and I see just a few 370/350z here and there. Haven't seen a nismo but I'm sure there might be a couple around. I can definitely relate to some of the attention that some of you have been getting:
People speeding up and matching your speed to just look
People flying by... some cut me off while doing so. It doesn't really make me mad. I just continue to drive normal and laugh in my head thinking of how stupid they look.
I would say I get more positive reactions then negative.
This car is pretty rare and has a great look so people usually just check out the car, talk to their passengers and point, even compliment me.
The thing I dislike the most is people having the urge to park next to it when there are so many spaces available. So many times, I park at least 10 spots away from any car. Walk out of the store and have some deef parked next to me. I wouldn't mind if I didn't find a mark on my door from another door opening and smacking my love.
Anyone find a mark on your car from other people being squabs and you just feel like busting out your Wolverine claws?

I get that a lot with my NISMO also. Especially now with my door handles matching my paint (the z is known for the silver door handles).

I hate it when my car breaks Sheen and had to be towed home. Modes car = hard time trouble shooting. Then there is the fact that I don't have a crash bar. This means no place for a recovery hook, at East for now.

I get every car on the road wants to race me. I had an FRS revving at me at the light, then when it went green he actually floored it and (attempted) to drag race me. But... I get terrible gas mileage, last thing Im gonna waste it on is a glorified prius without batteries.
