Going forward, why do you need a new engine? Can you find a decent shop that can pinpoint exact failure and replace parts as required?

Did you check oil and oil filter for metal?

Without removing engine, you can boroscope the cylinders and MAYBE remove oil pan and check bottom end.

I know this is happening very quickly but just trying to give advice and you can refer to it at your pace.

In the end, if it's cheaper to replace engine, so be it. However, I'd look into it a little more.

Good luck and keep us posted. We want to hear some good news.

It’s cheaper for them to replace the motor because the other way requires way to much labor time. I don’t know anything further until they call me. They first have to see exactly what is wrong and what to replace im guessing. As soon as I know more I will post it. Besides the Extent of the damage I want to know what stillen has to say.

Ok UPDATE! Sorry it’s been so long but it took forever to fix everything and didn’t want to post until the outcome of what Stillen was going to do. It’s been a real nightmare. At first Stillen didn’t want to help, claimed I didn’t fill out the warranty or pay for it, (even though I have copies of it), and they denied everything and were no help at all. SINCE then they have took responsibility and are paying for all damages and sent an updated tune for a 2018 Nismo. The shop (ARauto) Had my back the whole time and went above and beyond. Also Eugene from this forum has been HUGE. My car should be done this week. When I do get my Nismo back I can go more in depth as to the damages and outcome including what tune I’m using and so on. I took a brand new 2018 Nissan 370Z Nismo into the shop to get a stillen supercharger and I still don’t have my car back. I wouldn’t suggest putting on a tune unless it’s verified and proven. Stillen has come through and has paid for all damages but it was NOT an easy road. I still have not gotten a phone call with a simple sorry yet. Anyway will update and answer questions as soon as my ride is home. Thanks.

Can you say what constitutes "all damages" are they paying for your new motor? all labor costs? Whats considered all damages?

Also, seems as tho, unfortunately, those telling you not to go with Stillens tune time and time again were right, not trying to throw salt in the wound here. We've all been down a similar road at some point, I wish you the best of luck with it!

Also, do you have an AFR Gauge? I would suggest getting one if not, this way you can see how good the tune is on the fly and if the tune slips you know before its too late. I learned this the hard way on my turbo 240sx... and, I too, had to replace a blown motor...

So “all damages” means they paid for all the parts needed and the labor. Uprev paid half and Stillen paid half. I went with Ecutek got the sensors, AFR gauge, hardware and tune. Took a while to fine a Ecutek calibration that would work. Kept getting a VVEL code that would not go away. Come to find out Ecutek won’t work with the 2018 370Z Nismo either. When we would load the Uprev tune the problem was gone. Ecutek is aware that there tune is not completely compatible yet. Good news though, as everything is running fine on the updated tune that stillen sent us. No codes and everything looks fine. The shop is putting on some break in miles on the motor but so far all is going well. Once break in is finished, They will get the car into boost to make sure everything checks out there and do some logs as well via uprev. Will post update when I find out more.

So I jumped the gun saying that ECUTEK was causing the actuator error. It’s also doing it in Uprev so they narrowed it down to a bad actuator. Now they have to pull the motor and blah blah blah. I’m only going to update when everything is done. I like to thank Eugene from Infiniticare.com ecutek master tuner for Northern California. He’s been a huge help and been there every step of the way.

So once the car is back up and running, you're getting a complete custom tune, right? You're not going to run a Stillen tune at all?

So the updated Uprev/stillen file for the 2018 Nismo 370z works fine. No problems at all. My car is fixed and running perfect. Thanks to Martin from AR Autoservice they fixed and replaced the rings that were bad and have been there for me and my Nismo from day one. Great customer service and relations. Anybody in the Portland area that has a Nissan Z I highly recommend them. Ask for Martin at (503) 697-3311‬ he’s great. Now onto the tuning and to answer your question. I went with ECUtek cause I met a great master tuner Eugene (ByThaBay) who is super smart and knows what he is doing. He’s been tuning my Nismo remotely for the past week and it runs fast and strong. He’s the best. He’s info is Facebook.com/infiniticare and infiniticare.com or his handle on this forum is ByThaBay. So when he’s finished I will update here

Good to hear you’re ditching the Stillen tune. That’s most likely why the motor popped, if it wasn’t the crappy air to water setup. You ditched that too, right? I would think you would only want to replace the motor once.

it’s not needed at this time cause the tune takes into account everything to keep the Car safe and there are no issues. Every time I drive I’m logging and sending it to my tuner. The car is running super strong and no problems. The idle is perfect and Consistent and so is the power.

Its needed the instant you take the stillen kit out of the box. The only good part of that kit is the blower. Get in touch with topgunz before you go for your third motor.

Your choice of tuning software has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the ecu has no clue what temp the air coming into the motor really is since Stillen put the maf sensor before the compressor, and then used an undersized air to water intercooler. Good luck, but understand that you’re playing with fire as it sits right now. Try and avoid boost when it’s hot out and don’t do a bunch of back to back long pulls.

If you’re dead set on not fixing the problems with the kit, look into water/meth injection.
