The G has been alright a little issues here and there, I was reading through the issues with the Z and the clutch and pre-2012 overheating are what I've found to be common. Overheating won't be a problem as I won't track it, just some back road runs and it's 2013.

My main question was what are the biggest issues with this car? My G is on the verge of an engine problem, so I know the VQ w/ VVEL is a little touchy but if you guys have any warnings and heads ups I'd greatly appreciate it!

I don't know how much of an "issue" it is, but you might want to keep a closer eye on oil levels between changes than you would on other cars. Some cars seem to burn more oil than others.

Also, if you get a Nismo, be prepared for a stiffer ride and a lot more road and wind noise. Oh, and more awesomeness too.

I made my G more sportier than comfort, but you guys don't have any issues with the 6mt? For example on the new Genesis (trash) the last gears grind hard regardless of driving style. The 370 has nothing retarded like that?

Mine doesn't seem to grind at all, regardless of the gear it is in. However, the trans feels pretty notchy and clunky if that makes sense. Doesn't bother me though, since I have been driving an Evo IX for 4 years, and those are notchy as hell! I am sure some good trans fluid like Redline can smooth it out some.

Idk what people expect when they get a 40k sports car it's not gonna be buttery and refined, it's more fun when it's rough and dirty anyway hahaha but any more input is more than welcome!

Hello and welcome. This transmission is very nice! Not quite as good as my S2000 but up there. Still very new here myself, but no issue as of yet

most of the issues ppl have with the Z are pretty easily fixed.
-Not everyone likes the BOSE sound system
-Some people do not like the feel of the 6mt clutch (there is an easy fix)
-oil cooler for track is easily installed and works well.
-some people do not like the road noise on stock tires. (dynamat/tires fix)
-some people have oil consumption issues which are warranty fixable.
-'09s had a steering lock problem (can be bypassed easily by pulling fuse)

plan to get an uprev tune regardless of upgrades to really get most out of your VQ. You can adjust fans (to keep oil temps down) install 4 "maps" (like valet mode and higher octane mode for track) and you can adjust your rev limit for the track or dragging.

Good Luck on your decision.
