Default New to site, and I have a couple questions.

Hey everyone,

Just became a member today, I'm on my second Z now my first was a 2004 350 and I currently have had a 2011 370 for about nine months. My current Z is a base sport package 6MT. I am looking at doing some exhaust work and lowering my car, does anyone out there currently run aam short tails and high flow cats? I'm also looking to install lowering springs on my car and use wheel spacers, does anyone out there have any advice, any issues with rubbing?

Those were the springs I was looking at, did you do your own install?

No you need a press style spring compressor, plus you will need an alignment.

Good to know thanks, I have access to a auto shop that has all the specialty tools I'd need. I have a feeling it would be easier just to pay a shop to do it, do you remember about what you paid for labor?

Sorry I don't. I know that when I had it done I had sways and springs done. Then got it realigned with caster/camber kit. The car was too far from factory settings without the caster/camber kits. If you have a good suspension guy to help you might be able to do it all there. You will need a 4 wheel alignment afterwards.

I've usually done my own suspension work, but the last car I worked on was my 78 Camaro, so they're a completely different animals. I talked to the dealer and they'll do it but obviously not warranty it unless I overpay for the Nismo springs.

Any warranty would be thru the parts manu. If the price is right go for it. Just remeber that you may have to do a caster/camber kit for them to get it within spec.

I did a complete suspension on my 76 280Z in my driveway. The big issue is the new springs. If you look they are a beehive shape that conventional spring compressors cannot grip.

Cool thanks, I'll check with them on that. I also have to check with some local performance shops to see what they'll charge. If I can do all the lowering/spacing for under a grand i'll be happy. At least I know the exhaust will be a pretty straight forward do it yourself project.

iSteve you might want to do your exhaust first cause it is hard to get a jack under a lowered Z especially if you put on side skirts and front lip. Only issue with exhaust is the deamon bold on the cats.
