VLSD needs a certain difference in speed and the limiting feature doesn't start until there is a large difference, meaning, during heavy cornering, the inside tire has to slip at a high speed before the outside tire getting any torque. However, once the outside tire has been engaged and its speed becoming closer to the inside, the VLSD turns to "a relaxed state" and the limiting property drops sharply allowing the inside tire to gain speed again. Repeat that about 6-7x during a long sweeper at an autox. It's frustrating. Clutch-type LSD has a couple clutch packs which are already locked at zero speed difference. It still allows some slip, but it's already loaded from the getgo. |
