Talking Hello All - Newish Member and Owner, Australia

Hi there fellow Owners and Members,

This will be my first post on this forum after lurking around for a few weeks. I hadn't posted yet as I didn't have the new car and didn't want to jinx myself. A quick backstory is, I was looking into a new car in Oct 08. At the time I drove a new BMW 135 (hence forum name) and a 2004 M3. Also at the time we bought the wife a new BMW 120i (from a Mazda SP23). Unfortunately I had to have some extensive surgery, so my car was put on the back burner.

Then in March was looking again at a new car. By now I had heard and seen dome Youtube videos of the new 370Z, but being impatient I didn't want to wait (I thought it was going to be end of year before it came out). Still looked into the BMW 135 and drove a Z4M. Again the surgery reared it's ugly head and had to go back under the knife.

Now the good stuff. A few weeks ago the Minister of Finance gave to go ahead to look again. By now I had found this wonderful Forum (thanks AK, great job) and thanks to Ellz in the May 1st thread I headed off to Keema Nissan first. I must say great service and offered what I do consider a great deal, including the trade in on my MY04 STI. Now as a consumer I also checked in with Highway Nissan (big shout out and thanks to Rob Whyte and showed me what the car can actually do during the test drive). They also offered a great deal. Took that to Keema and they just couldn't quite match it. Plus the extras that Highway Nissan were able to add, that really sold me (you'll see them soon).

I originally though I wanted one in BLACK or that Bronze type colour. Then when at Highway Nissan I saw the Yellow one. Also seeing KillerBee's one on this forum I fell for the yellow. I picked it up yesterday and had a nice drive up Mt.Gravatt this morning for some pictures (Ellz should know that road).

Here are a couple of pics form yesterday. Will post my pics from this morning soon.

Thanks k20z3. I honestly couldn't be happier at the moment. Even more so after the little spirited drive i took up a short mountain run this morning.

I have done that same run many, many times before in all my cars (MY04 STI, an 06 MX5/Miata and highly modded Suziki Swift). Without even really pushing it, it felt so much more planted and capable on the road. It's quite a bumpy little road as well.

Cant wait to get to a track day and do some basic Time Attack stuff.

Great to be around this forum to.

PS Also had some dealer installed things that is seems most American buyers are after (pics to follow real soon).

Talking Pics added..

Hey Guys and Girls,

Here are some pics I took this morning (Point and shoot camera). Hopefully you like them. Definitely not as good as in real life or especially as driving it.

Now the additions i got added from the Dealer are direct iPod/iPhone connection. So instead of us Aussies using the AV jacks (still usable ) i have a normal iPod/iPhone connector. Also have had a "Reverse Camera" added. Once in reverse it overides any input using the AUX input. This is reason for the few extras k's than normal on the clock for delivery.

The only other I thing ordered were Z Matts (back order). All this was installed pre-delivery.

Console view of reverse Camera,

Position of Rev' Cam,

Close UP of Rev Cam,

Shot at home (damn cold today, by QLD standards),

Driver front,

Driver Rear 3/4,

Driver Side,

Rear 3/4,

Driver Front (again),

Passenger Rear,

Rear Shot Favourite,

Now all i need to do (besides Hardware Mods) is Tint and will colour the wheels "Matt Black" ala KillerBee (hopefully iam allowed to link to his pics). Also thinking of doing the door handles.

-Scott

PS Anyone have ideas on how to mount a Video Cam (JVC GC-HD30) which basically palm size, without messing the dash too much.

PPS Anyone in QLD (Australia) who is interested in the Cam/iPod setup let me know and i'll forward the details to you.

Hi there irishboy. Hope your wait isn't too long. I was just real lucky they had one in stock (non demo). As for the Camera/iPod stuff, technically they are aftermarket additions. Although the dealer I went through has a very close relationship with a Car Audio place, up here in Brissie and offered it as Dealer Add-On if that makes sense.

Hi there KillerBee370. Firstly let me say I love what you have done with your car so far. Definitely a big factor in me deciding on Colour at least and also what can be done to the cars.

As for the bumps, to be honest I cant tell you. At a guess maybe, could they be for the Auto sensing lights. I assume you guys in the US dont have them then. I have just emailed the dealer incase he knows (unless someone else here answers it).

Thanks for the compliment StLRedrider.

I need to get my hands on a proper SLR so I can some REAL pictures of the car. At this stage, KillerBees 370, is definitely my inspiration in what I am looking for in the way of looks.
