the m3 was great but it did have some nit picky problem that kept it in the shop. I'll say that during the time I put 8000 miles on the M I put 3000 miles on BMW loaner cars.
Ok you're a smart man then! Paying off a house > a car. Props br0tha

So far the only thing that I'm having to get used to is the vibration from the shifter and clutch. From what I've gathered that is just the way these cars are. I'm loving the syncro rev though, I'm having to get used to being able to just downshift and let the clutch out quickly.

The Z feels a little less stable than the M but it is probably just the shorter wheelbase.

I love how intuitive the controls are on the Z. On the BMW it honestly took me months to figure out how to program the presets for FM. Every time I would do it they would just go back to the default setting. Also XM is better than Sirius, there is much less lag when changing between stations.

I did have to break out the manual to figure out how to disable the auto door locks though.

I'm also looking forward to the MPG increase over the M.

Yeah, posted my car for sale there had a good bit of interest but none serious enough to keep me from trading.

ran with an e92 when I was fully stock. Its fast but he didn't walk away I think the e46 was much better. Smart move though it'll leave a lot of people scratching their heads. Better to have a house and a Z than an e92 M and no house.

First and foremost, welcome! You had such a sweet ride before the Z..... *drool*. I constantly stare at random e92 M3's at my work; its just so curvaceous and sexy! Congrats on the new ride and enjoy your new crib

Former e92 M3 owner here also. Got rid of it for the same reason as you as well.

I have to be honest I have enjoyed the Z but then again I didn't go straight from the Bimmer to the Z. There was a 6 month gap in between. So after driving a Honda Ridgeline for a few months just about anything would feel more sporty or fast.

The driving experience was great. The car really did have something special about it. It kind of spoils you actually.

The Z isn't far behind though, other than the NVH from the drivetrain she is quite the performer. Especially for ~1/2 the price.

We are meeting with the Realtor tomorrow and our current house should be officially on the market. I'll then be able to with more confidence make an offer on the new one. Having a tiny car payment also helps .

The current gen m3 is nothing special. Next gen will get a turbo 6.

The 335i with a chip will run all over the m3.

But anyways, nice move the the 370. Im looking to do the same. The 370 has the right price tag for performance.

I was looking a tts pretty hard,, but Im finding it hard to believe that im looking at a $47-$53k car. I just dont see the value in it.

A few months ago I was throwing around the idea of trading in my 335i for an E90 M3 sedan with the DCT 7 speed. Test drove it and it was a real screamer in the top end, felt slower than my 335i around town but thats expected, (heavier car with less torque) but it made up for it in the upper revs. After working the numbers (almost $70,000 OTD) with the options I wanted, I figured I should just keep my 335i and find myself a 2nd super fun car. Thats what I did.

The driving experience in the 370Z reminds me a lot of the E90 M3 I test drove, moderate torque down low and the car has a sweet smooth acceleration feel to redline. Did you notice steering feel between the 370Z and the E90/92 M3 feels almost the same? The 335i's steering is much heavier, but the 370Z and M3's have a lighter much livelier feel.

My 335i has been pretty reliable for the most part, 35k miles so far. 2 high pressure fuel pumps, 1 failed driver side mirror motor, and 1 set of rear brake pads.

The Z was just traded in on a Maxima and only had 833 miles on it. I was looking to get into something a little less pricey to move up the property ladder. I actually stopped at the dealer to look at a frontier and when I started looking at the Z's I said in passing that if I were to get one I'd want a PG with sport and nav. The sales lady's eyes lit up and said she was working on a trade for that exact car and that if she could find the exact Maxima that the guy wanted that they should be getting the Z in a couple days. She called me on Wednesday, we got the deal worked out and I took delivery today. The only bad thing was the car already had the front plate bracket mounted.

My M3 only had 8066 miles when I dropped her off this afternoon, I was a little sad but I got a great car and the deal was solid.

My wife has an Infiniti EX35 and it has been flawless. Her good luck with that car is what made me consider the Z. The Z and the EX actually appear to share quite a few parts.

I don't have any good pics of the Z but yall all know what they look like.

The old M3:
I fell off my chair when i saw the title...

how do the cars compare? As much as i love the z, there must be things about the M3 you miss... M3 is a legendary car...
