Default A 370z Convert?

Hello: Newbie here. I have read a lot of info on this forum before buying my Z and it has been great. Nice job everyone! I just picked up my 40th Anniversary edition on Thursday night. Didn't get to drive it as much as I wanted this weekend!

I traded in my 2002 BMW M3 with over 100,000 miles on it when I picked up the new Nissan. I can't believe I bought a 370z. After three straight BMWs, I thought I was a BMW guy for life. But, after getting tired of sinking thousands into an aging M, I decided it was time for a change of scenery, even though the M3 was the best performing car I ever owned. Once I test drove the 370Z at the urging of a friend, I was sold. I almost bought an 08 M3 instead, but decided the Z felt more sporty and fun. So far I was right. I am a little frustrated waiting for the break-in period to expire. Max of 4,000 RPM for 1,200 miles? Really Nissan?? I can't wait to try this car out.

Overall first impressions: Great little car with excellent workmanship. I love some of the details. The leather/stitching, bluetooth, XM, wheels, calipers. Nice looking car. The performance is good, but I need to get it on a track ASAP. I hear a clunk in the transmission every once in a while like some people have said, but compared to my M3 this is a silent transmission. The Syncrho Rev Match is awesome. I think some of my buddies at the track will call it cheating, but it should keep the car nice and balanced in those corners coming off of downshifts. Since the car has the exact same HP as my M and about the same weight, I expected a similarly peppy feeling. I have to give the nod to the M, even though accerlation specs are very close (0-60 times). Again, I may change my mind after the initial break in period. The handling of the Z is great though, very flat in corners and I like the lower sports car feel.

So, the 370Z seems to have converted a die-hard BMW fanatic. Time will tell if I am truly born again, or if I go back over to the dark side.

AWESOME! Welcome to the Z family - Synchro Rev Match isn't cheating - its Darwinism at its best!

Can't wait to hear all about your track sessions.
