To the families and friends in the area out there in CA, RIP Paul, you will be missed greatly as you have inspired the inner mechanic and gear junkie in all of us. Your talent and works will live on throughout your legacy. Our sincerest condolences and wishes to your families, loved ones and those who were close to you.

Tragic. I am at a loss for words and I generally am not very concerned about celebrities

I really want more details on this..

Alstann 11-30-2013 10:09 PM

I just got home and read the news. This is terrible. And I just had been joking with a friend about how awesome the F&F movies were.

R.I.P. Paul Walker. I really think he revived the street car scene in the US and got kids excited about it. And he was genuinely a car enthusiast, it's sad to lose a fellow enthusiast.

Me too. But he was different in person.

Chuck33079 11-30-2013 10:10 PM

Okay, I'll be that guy. How fast do you have to be going on a public street to have that happen to you?

kfull 11-30-2013 10:13 PM

jesus that car is destroyed

SPOHN 11-30-2013 10:15 PM

I hope he went quick from hitting the tree then light pole being the car burst into flames.

Lol 140+

Chuck33079 11-30-2013 10:19 PM

So a guy made famous by movies about people driving like idiots on the street dies in a car being driven by an idiot on the street? Just a touch ironic. Since he's famous, people seem to have a lot more sympathy than they would from Johnny Nobody doing the same thing. I'm just glad he didn't take another car out in the process.

lauj 11-30-2013 10:20 PM

It was a closed street. It was a charity event for the Philippine disaster. But I agree they should not drive that fast. It seem like Paul was the passenger.

He wasn't driving though.

SPOHN 11-30-2013 10:20 PM

I hope I go out one day in a car. That way they can say he was doing what he loves. Sounds crazy I know. I'm not going to live my life with fear leading me.

Ok, at least it was a closed street.

Jasonle 11-30-2013 10:22 PM

:(:(:( wow I can't believe this.

SPOHN 11-30-2013 10:25 PM

Ok guys lets judge on his last moments not what he really represented. A$$holes. That's why I care less about anyone. A N Y O N E. If it was your family you wouldn't say sh!t. Nothing in life matter anyways. We all die. Then that's it.

If this is true, I take it back, carry on, it's a shame

Rusty 11-30-2013 10:26 PM

I just read about this on msn. :( I liked him. Think he was one of the better young actors out there.

lauj 11-30-2013 10:26 PM

Can someone confirm if it was a closed street? I could be wrong

Wow... Really... This is why the news is bull, and you really just said that it WAS a closed street... Now you're ASKING?

C'mon now...

I could be wrong, but it was a guy names Walker Paulson in the car, not Paul Walker

I've been looking and can't find anything. The sheriffs report mentions nothing about a closed street.

No, but if you're in a car with someone going that fast on a public road, my sympathy is almost none.

Charity event to show off and whatnot. You lose control, much sympathy, you were doing what you do just to help out.

lauj 11-30-2013 10:32 PM

Sorry depointfive. I meant to type "I think" it was a closed street. my bad

Exactly. And what charity event calls for the kind of speed that ends in an accident like that? Every charity car event I've seen has been a low speed cruise, not WOT in a carerra gt.

What would you do? Yank the E brake? It's all the same and everyone here has and still does. Rather it be 100+ or spirited driving which we all know is not innocent. A simple illegal U turn can be the exact same thing.

Oh come on. An illegal u turn doesn't end with a car burnt to the ground. You mean at no point the passenger could have told his friend to slow down? It's a crappy situation for those left behind, but lets not canonize someone for going along for a joyride on a public street in his buddy's Porsche.

It's not really the it being illegal, it is more you put others at risk, they could have hit another car, causing others to die or be injured.
You live with the consequences of your actions or the actions you put yourself into.
I am sure Paul is a better driver than the guy driving, but you got in the car. You trusted him, sorry you died, but no one forced you to.

DEpointfive0 11-30-2013 10:41 PM

But yeah, as Jeremy Clarkson says, it would be better to go through the pearly gates backwards in flames
