No joke though, simply put, this show would not be what it is without Peter Dinklage in the role as Tyrion. He makes that character work. And to be someone so hated in the first season for his anti-Stark position, he's turned out to be one of the characters I care about the most as the show continues. I will say, his character understands how the Game works, maybe more than most.

While I agree, I think Charles Dance as Tywin is an equally compelling, if darker, character. In spite of the two hating each other, the father-son relationship really shows in their shared intelligence and shrewdness, and it comes through well in the TV series. I have a hard time imagining anyone else reliably pulling off Tywin's character the way Charles has done.

I'll give you that^ Though up until this season (and to some degree last season) he hasn't played nearly as much of a role in the on screen time. Granted, his plots and schemes definitely motivate the entire universe of the show for sure.

This season is flying by too damn fast

I know, we're almost done.

:-(

The scene in the courtyard with Sansa and Robin was EXACTLY what I envisioned when I read the book. That's awesome.

I really like how Oberyn is portrayed as well. I can't wait to see the rest of the Sands bastard daughters, Doran, Adrianne and Gerold Dayne.

Exciting stuff...the awesomeness continues!

can i interject my confusion on perhaps a key point i missed earlier: we all knew JAMIE was the son of an incestuous relationship but, i had no idea that his younger brother, and now king, is as well...what am i missing?

btw, "jamie" played his role perfectly---i hated him, even down to his looks---perfect casting, esp. considering the young actor is very polite and mannerly in real life according to 'ENT WKLY'...

HKYStormFront 05-25-2014 02:41 PM

Think you mean Joffrey and it was implied in the first season, iirc, that all of Cercei's children were from Jamie, her brother, not Robert Baratheon. I may be mistaken though, I haven't watched S1 in a while...

jaybulls 05-25-2014 03:37 PM

oh gosh...you're right, i thought jamie may be wrong---i can't keep track of any of these names/locations/rivalries; too old an' stupidly numb, butt, into HBO---thx for straightening me out---i needed that...

No, ever since the terrible ratings during "Blackwater" which aired on Memorial Day weekend, they have decided not to air on Memorial Day Weekend anymore.
