I just had 4 new tires, an alignment and rear brakes put on my Grand Caravan at that Firestone. They did a really good job. There are no marks of any kind on the aluminum wheels.

Going to have to think about sizes. I will definitely let you know though. I want to get the stock Bridgestones through this summer. I have 20k on them and they are starting to get thin on the outside edges of the rears. If I can get another 5-7k out of them, I think I will be happy.

I want to take it to a place that will take care of it though. I am freaked out to think about my rays getting jacked up. I keep them spotless!

Side-news: Got a JDM rear fog installed. It looks great! Next mod will be spacers...then exhaust. Wife does not want me to lower it though. LOL we already scrape the little plastic things in front of the wheels going into our driveway.

More side-news: Earlier this week. Pulled the Z out of the garage. Had a giant nail in the passenger rear tire. Pulled the wheel off. Ran it up to Lou Fusz. They fixed it for FREE!! Lou, compliment your service department on a great job. I will be comming back if I need service.

:tup::tup: I'm taking my Z up to Lou tomorrow morning to get my test pipes and springs installed (finally). My dad is also bringing his Z up for an oil change.

Awesome to hear he took care of you!

Jerggy13 03-18-2012 10:28 PM

If you ever need stuff installed. Let me know. I have a small but pretty well stocked garage.

Not to take money away from Lou, but ever since I sold my VR-4, I don't have anything to work on...LOL!

Just picked up the Z from Lou's place after getting test pipes and springs installed. Service was top notch!

Looks and sounds great, sorry it took so long, we had to custom make some gaskets for the test pipes. I believe we owe you a stud too :icon14:

Busy day, next time you in, I'll take you for a spin in the monster.

ugh, that's my fault. I should've bought some gaskets prior to bringing it in. what did you guys end up using?

A modded Fit? Hmm. I wouldn't mind seeing that. My sister has a Fit but it's definitely not modded. Maybe I can get her to come as my passenger so I'm not the only girl. I want one of you guys to show me how to take off faster in first gear. But I guess we'd need a track for that... bummer.

Well I'm tentative. Let me think about it/try to convince my husband. He'd be stuck with the kids that day and already says I have too many hobbies. :rofl2:

We don't need a track to do some practice

I think this is a great idea.

My Z's my third manual, so I'm not exactly a beginner. But I'd enjoy comparing manual-driving notes with others. For me personally, I'm fine with day-to-day driving, but I'd like to gain more confidence in my quicker-launch techniques. And I've love to discuss that over a cup of coffee with other Z owners sometime!

Hopefully next time the St. Louis group has a meet it'll be on a weekend where I can get away and come meet everyone.

Keb, I'll bring my wife along. The two of you can work on your first-gear starts together. She needs help too. ;) :bowrofl:

Awesome. But I don't know if learning a faster take-off is going to really "help" me in any way... haha...

So.. what's the "mini Dragon road"? I can't find it on Google maps...

Jasonle 03-21-2012 10:53 PM

This is my first manual. I would like to know how to start off quick and switching into 2nd gear without snapping my neck in half. Hopefully you guys can show me!

Let me drive your car.....I'll show you how!! If you are not breaking necks, you are not driving fast enough. :-)

There isn't actually a road called the "mini dragon". :p It was just a play on the name of the road that everyone drives in NC at Zdayz (The Dragon).

I will look up the road on google maps in a bit and post the route

Haha... yeah. That's how much of a noob I am. :bowrofl:

And, if more than just me is asking for a launch tutorial then I am so RSVPing. Too much fun to pass up.

I'll have to check that out sometime! I've looked at doing that road before, but continuing on Highway T to Labadie. Looks like a fun road that cuts through the river hollows, at least from Google Maps.

My wife & I hit the wineries out on 94 a couple times a year, and I've always thought that the stretch from Matson to Dutzow was a fantastic stretch of road. So long as it's not packed with wine tour buses, which it is on many spring/fall weekends. But on a quiet weekend, it's great. It's not quite the real Dragon (done that a few times... :driving:), but it's a worthy drive with plenty of corners & elevation changes.

Matson, MO to Dutzow, Charrette, MO - Google Maps

There are actually a ton of quiet & sweet little roads over along the Missouri river. Lots to explore.

If there's ever a group that wants to do a wine run out to Hermann and back, let me know. I know some good places. :yum:

haggomyeggo 03-22-2012 11:06 AM

The modded fit has the sport body kit exhaust intake and some kind of prototype coils I think. I know he had springs but the place he got them from offered for him to try out some new coils...this sounded odd to me but it's a fit. I figured I'd let him have it...lol

Cant wait till Zeaster!

that sounds like a great time! my dad and I usually hit 94 every couple of months. like you said, if you can find a quiet weekend to go out (or EARLY), it's a blast. it's usually pretty crowded though.

we want to keep the spots we meet at fresh, so after this next gathering, we're definitely open to trying something new. a winery weekend sounds like fun.

Another fun one is HYW T just below by St. Alban's. Good amount of elevation changes and longs sweeping turns.

I might go drive HWY T this weekend and break the swifts in so I can get an alignment next week.

You will have to let me know how you like the swifts. I am thinking about a set. Wife does not really want me to lower the car though. Hell we do scrape the plastic things in front of the wheels going into our driveway!
