Wellllll... Since you're 16, why don't you have your parents just call your insurance company?

In CA unless you own the account, you can't get an estimate under someone else's account (your parents.)
And you cannot have 2 different policies for family members who live in the same household

Have you figured out your monthly payment for the car yet? It's an expensive car to maintain, not to mention a full tank of gas is going to run you 60-70 for premium. When I first started driving, 17, in NJ, a 1999 Volvo v70 station wagon, it was 2k a year. St. Louis is probably cheaper so Ill give you that - but you're talking about a 2 seater sports car instead of a wagon.

And most companies consider it a luxury car. So there for it costs more.

It's about the numbers produced per year. Also how much they cost to fix. They had to replace a windshield, mirror and front quarter panel on my old 350z and it cost almost 3k to fix. I just had some minor bumper damage on my old 370 and it was $1000 to fix a small dent. I'm was also referring to my Nismo.

it's going to be astronomical...

I was 19 when I got my 350z with flawless record and my insurance was $250/mo and my z was only worth prolly 12k vs your $35k+ z. but now down to like $130.

Wow. Yeah now guessing....hmmm two seater and lack of driving knowledge. ..35k car. I'm gonna start a bet here, so I say $400. Now that's on your own not piggybacking off your parents insurance.

And I'm betting that is with the minimum coverages and a $1K deductible.

I don't know about all these ASSumptions thinking it'll be astronomical....

It REALLY depends on state and insurance provider

In CA when I was 18 to be insured under the family with the 2003 Toyota Highlander and the 2008 Lexus ES350 and the 1998 Toyota Avalon it was $400/month through AAA, if we shifted companies it would be cheaper...
In any case, F that, I didn't get insurance and I'd drive my aunt's car (guest driver)...

Now when I moved to Houston at 20, I got several quotes for several cars for JUST me (2009 Maxima, 2009 Lexus IS350, ISF, 1994 Supra, and 1982 DeLorean...)
Everything was right around $300-350 a month (DeLorean and SUPRA were around $250/month)

Then I called State Farm, ISF and Maxima, me at 20 with a speeding ticket on my record with my brother at 29 with 2 tickets, $170/month, $1000/500 deductible... SOLD!!!
11 months later Maxima totaled, I got paid out $27.8k on a car I bought for $20.6, LOL (but I put $1-2k into it)

Fast forward a bit more, I get estimates for a Supra, DeLorean, 370Z, fuckín hell even cheaper!!! Supra and DeLorean with the current ISF, $140. 370Z with ISF, $162~ SOLD again!
And my deductible is at $500/250

Then I got THE cheapest Renters insurance... Now it's $155 WITH THE RENTERS INSURANCE!!! LOL!!!!!!

And I did driver's safe driving or some BS, and it's ANOTHER 10% off, LOL!!!

Do you think insurance will cost as much as the G35 coupe? Cause my brother got one for around the same price I might be purchasing my 370z for.
