;)

I have, but it'll be a toy I probably end up keeping for a long time. I've looked around at all the new stuff out there and right now, an old car to restore/build is just more appealing to me and how I'd rather spend my money. New cars are nice and flashy for a few years, then it gets boring and is forgotten, especially once a new gen comes out. I want something that is classic. Think 240z/510. I think the newest I'll go is an MKIV Supra. Yeah it won't be the fastest or have the tech gadgets, but that's ok with me.

I would love to get my hands on a cheap, rust free 240 that I can work on.

Agree. So hard to find around here. I've been casually looking for years, I've always loved the 240 and the 510.

My first car was a base model '98 Mitsubishi 3000GT. I've always had dreams of picking up a VR-4 and building it into a rocket, but even if I could find something that wasn't molested I still don't think I could bring myself to buy a 16+ year old car and not blow it up in frustration.

osbornsm 01-21-2015 09:18 AM

Also keep in mind the VR-4 had 4 wheel drive, and 4-wheel steering, which is a beeyoch to keep aligned and functioning.

Second... the REGULAR 3000 GT weighs 3800. The VR-4 with all wheel drive is prolly more. IMHO... start with a more nimble platform.

90s sure was the era for Japanese sports cars. Didn't the 300zx tt have 4wheel steering as well? These cars were ahead of their times

Not sure about the 300, but Skyline GTR did for sure.

My love for 90s Japanese sports car is the reason I ended up with the Z. It seems like it's one of the last true Japanese sports cars left. You could argue the EVO/STI, but the rally-esque thing makes me feel like they don't count and the BRZ/FRS wasn't even out yet to consider.

osbornsm 01-22-2015 12:12 PM

This getting older sh*t is for the birds.

I mean, i had a migraine last night. My spine decided to stop moving my legs. And you all know about the crazy upstairs :p

It appears sitting in a car for an hour + work for 9 hours is f-ing with my back quite a bit.

owwwwwww

b15 01-22-2015 12:38 PM

That's crazy! That doesn't sound right, have to gone to the dr?

osbornsm 01-27-2015 09:17 AM

Well it's not so much my spine now as it is a pain in my leg now. So it's moved from terrible to just annoying. Stay tuned...

:wtf2:

Matter of fact, the 300ZX TT was available with the HICAS, where the rear wheels steered just a bit....oh the memories of my 91 300z, so much fun.

The above post was a song lyric. In case you happened to miss that one.

But on a happier note...

Feliz Tuesday to all :-p

osbornsm 02-18-2015 03:41 PM

Ken I may not make it to zdayz. My client has a big event planned that weekend and I most likely have to be on-site. Should know more next week.
