SPRING DYNO DASH

DYNO DAY AND CRUISE
Time : March 3rd, 10am-whenever pm
Location:

Meet Location: Modiefied by MKC-
728 Southwest Boulevard
Kansas City, Kansas 66103,
-then doing a cruise to CZ03WRX's shop were we will BBQ and beverage/hang (see below for cruise details

Cruise Location: Action Sports Images
1024 NE Jib Court
Lee's Summit, MO 64064
- Woods Chapel exit on 470. Head towards Lake Jacomo and immediately hang a left onto the outer road at the light. Follow that road down and around a couple corners, Jib Court is The second right. Look for Action Sports Images

Looks like we can get 12 pulls or so done by 3pm if we start at 10. If you cant make the whole thing, i would recommend at least attending a bit of the dyno time and trying to make the cruise. it will take us from MKC in kck to a local subie guys' photo studio in Lees Summit (470 and woods chapel area) where we can hang out, eat food, have a beer or 2 and bs, photoshoot, anything along those lines. The studio has a refrigerator/microwave, a couple couches, a flatscreen w/ wii/dvd player, a mini putting green(nothing special) and a few other little things. It's large enough to host probably 100 people and just as many cars

Who can come: friends of friends are welcome to come. it isnt an all exclusive dyno day. were simply trying to meet other local car people. We already have post on kcsubaru.com and of course here. Midwest EVO are more than welcome to come out with friends for this.

edub370 01-18-2012 10:53 AM

dyno day might be cool to show off those mods.

tower74 01-18-2012 11:26 AM

You know I'm down.....now just to finish everything by then. Hmmmm I think I fill the flu coming on so I might just have make it last for a month and a half..
Cough cough, I think its working. :barf:

sboden 01-18-2012 01:12 PM

I'm in unless a family function rears its head....Dyno won't show much for mine as I just have a tune, exhaust, and intakes. If this weather holds up maybe I can polish mine before we meet up. The other problem is Tower will vomit on my car......

edub370 01-18-2012 01:51 PM

haha u are a tuned car ahead of me. would be interesting to see the difference between tuned and not tuned. looks like the subie group has a lot of interest in doing this. got a few cars committed already.

also, do you want to polish the car before or after the vomit?

Both...If I could I would polish it daily :hello:

Hey meow, no puking here.......well maybe after a long night and a bottle of vodka..the whole bottle. Then it might turn out bad but one can never tell:roflpuke2:

edub370 01-18-2012 03:13 PM

Ok so if we look into doing a dyno day with the subie guys we could get a discounted rate if we get 10 cars total

per chad at MKC

"Minimum of 10 cars for the discounted rates that we do on Dyno Days; $35 for 2wd and $55 for AWD and just $5 extra for wideband afr on each of those"

ALSO, would anyone be opposed to opening this event up to another club or 2 and just getting a big fun gathering together??

tower74 01-18-2012 03:50 PM

I'd say score on the dyno prices...more is better than less. Hell we could it KC Car Fest ... at the same time I'd almost doubt the domestic boys would show with our imports.:drama: Trust me I work with a few.

edub370 01-18-2012 04:00 PM

The sti guys are in really well with the evo club (owner of mkc started mw evo club) so i think the groups would be z's, evo's and subies.

edge573 01-18-2012 04:32 PM

Yeah I should be down for that. Im justed limited on the weekends. I work everyother.

edub370 01-18-2012 04:48 PM

What would work better for everyone? last weekend of feb, or first weekend of march?

basically either feb 25th or march 3rd?

tower74 01-18-2012 06:45 PM

Well I should be back by Feb 20th. So 25th or the 3rd is good. I'm gonna be busy as hell that week...tuning, body kit, paint etc. but I'll make sure I'm ready.

edub370 01-18-2012 07:28 PM

looks like we may be leaning more towards the 3rd right now as the 100 acre rally is being held on the 25 and a lot of the subie guys will be going to that, as well as some guys from the370z as well

Cool gives me a few day to install the kit....DAMNIT!!!! Now I've got to wait until Feb 20th to even see the kit :excited:...I still need to call Chad about that tuning. So I might skip the tune but if means I'm the 10th I do it anyway.

sboden 01-19-2012 07:46 AM

I should be good after 2 pm on the 3rd.

edub370 01-19-2012 01:23 PM

OP updated with specifics for time, place, and attendance as of now.

who all would be down to throw their car on a dyno? those prices are dependant on getting 10 people to dyno.

sboden 01-19-2012 05:02 PM

Looks good...doing a great job edub370.

tower74 01-19-2012 06:41 PM

Do know what everyone will be running? Turbo, SC etc....got my eye on that 1st place for HP prize :leghump:

ZKraken22 01-19-2012 07:35 PM

agreed!

depending on how late you work you could join the festivities as well.

we'll be enjoying some food and bs'ing at a local subie guys shop that we'll cruise to

and lloyd, if we can convinve dixon cider to come from stl his car has a stage II GTM sc kit

good news! we just got word that we now have that date reserved for group dyno time and rates. looks like the subie guys are gonna waaaaay outnumber is. but thats only as it stands right now. lets get some more Z's at this thing!

tower74 01-20-2012 08:18 AM

I can throw something on STL thread and see who is interested. Hell its a 3hr drive from there...or 2 hrs 15 min if you really push it. Who knows ...

edub370 01-20-2012 08:19 AM

haha ya i already posted a link to the thread. hopefully we can get some guys to join us!

tower74 01-20-2012 08:35 AM

Yeah I just seen that. Hey have you tried hitting the guys from witichia up yet? Another 3 hr drive. Maybe check out if someone has a good camera or recorder.

edub370 01-20-2012 08:50 AM

Sent out a fw pm's to people. sent one to DIGItonium from kansas. he's got a gtm stage II tt kit. maybe he will kno of some people willing to come from that area

DIGItonium 01-20-2012 12:30 PM

Thanks for the invite. I'll try to invite more people since it sounds like a fun mini roadtrip.

With this time frame, I wonder if I can get the MBC installed ahead of time before going to this meet and dial up the boost and monitor AFRs.

-Phuong

edub370 01-20-2012 12:40 PM

would love to see that thing dyno. have a lil competetion between u and tower for the highest hp z

WOAH digitonium, are you in the video ad astra??? just saw it and im pretty sure thats your ride im seeing

DIGItonium 01-20-2012 02:19 PM

That's correct! I don't think I'll win the high HP Z competition. This is going to be a mild boost setting. Are there any UpRev tuners up there? It'll be nice to get a tune as well at 8-9 PSI while I'm there. Otherwise, the canned tune should handle 8-9 PSI easily as long as AFRs are in check.

I'm sure with your twins you'll beat me on that one:tup: but the place we are doing the dyno, I'm planning on taking my car to them to see if they can fix my tune and squeeze a few more HP out of her. Also to fix my hot start issues.

This is with the UpRev? I'm pushing 400 whp right now on Dyno Dynamics. It'll be nice to be in the ballpark of 450-475 whp tuned around 8-9 PSI. :yum:

I'm sure at the original shop they used uprev and I'm hoping it will be the same at this one. We were able to get about 440hp on a mid temp pull. Talking with Andrew @UAM, I should of been getting around 460-480hp.

edub370 01-21-2012 01:54 PM

Hell you know as well as I do that there isn't very many car meets in KC. Kinda would figure with a total pop. of the area pushing 2.1 million that it would be a little bigger. Otherwise great job on getting this going, would love to help more but working on the road 6-8 months of the year make it hard to get much done.

edub370 01-21-2012 03:11 PM

we have another month for people to find out about it. i would imagine we will be 30-40 cars strong without trying too hard

tower74 01-22-2012 01:03 PM

I know I'd almost rather be home dealing with the f'ing cold weather than the special people down here. Otherwise sounds like it'd going to be a good time.

edub370 01-23-2012 11:17 AM

if this goes really well this year, would anyone be down for turning this into an annual thing?

edub370 01-23-2012 01:28 PM

Its looking like the dyno will have to be no more than 12-15 cars. when we all arrive we will make a list and go off of that. if you are not there when we are ready, we will go to the next person on the list. time is still open. we are looking around 10am Meeting MKC and we will start off from there. plan on leaving around 5pm for the cruise part. we will get some food for lunch while we are there (pizza and soda/water). hope this works out for everyone.

if you cant make the whole thing, i would recommend at least attending a bit of the dyno time and trying to make the cruise. it will take us from MKC in kck to a local subie guys' photo studio in Lees Summit (470 and woods chapel area) where we can hang out, eat food, have a beer or 2 and bs, photoshoot, anything along those lines. The studio has a refrigerator/microwave, a couple couches, a flatscreen w/ wii/dvd player, a mini putting green(nothing special) and a few other little things. It's large enough to host probably 100 people and just as many cars

however if you can only stay for so long thats plenty alright, come and go as you please!

OP has been updated to reflect finalized time and location

tower74 01-23-2012 08:09 PM

If it means that someone that wants to do the dyno but they get left out, they are welcome to take my spot :tiphat:. Like I said I was gonna see if they can fix the tune on my car anyway so I'll already have my numbers.:driving:
Yeah I would like to see this turn into a yearly event. Who knows it could grow even larger. You know me, I've tried before but timing was always last minute.

edub370 01-23-2012 09:51 PM

ya i am the same way with dyno'ing. i would like to, but its not a huge deal. i think we can just kinda play it by ear and get in however many we get in. who knows, if theres still a few people that want to by the end of they day, we aren't obligated to be out by a certain time. the 3-4 cruise time was just kinda a rough estimate by how many people are currently signed up. (dyno shop is ours for the day) so if we have more, we have more. no biggie either way.
