I suggest that you guys invest in tax software like Turbo Tax. Even if the software is relatively old, you can use it to estimate your tax liability ... say about 1 to 3 years old. Then, divide your tax liability by the number of paychecks that you expect to receive. That figure will represent what you should be withholding from each of your paychecks. Do this for Federal AND State. If your withholdings are too low, then file a new W4 that specifies "an additional amount" to withholding, or you may reduce your allowances, or do a combination of both. When your income changes significantly, estimate again.

They are actually going to help with the issue....So no harm no foul. Now I just need to ask if they will help with the price of the paint for the new kit:tup:. Don't really want it sitting around a bunch of special ed kids that will probably damage it. I'd rather have it on my car.

Trust me I know all about that....It always hits us about this time of the year and the younger guys start to freak out because they blow all their cash and realize they won't be getting a check for 2 weeks:bowrofl:.

I take it as a nice vacation mixed in with a little work. At the same time it looks this will be my last day off ( I only really only work about 9-10 months of the year). Customers starting to throw the jobs at us and everyone uses their cell phones so it will never end.

bbigby64 02-28-2012 02:31 PM

A few more points. When using software to estimate, enter 0 into the "Taxes you paid" field. The "Taxes you owe" field will represent your estimated tax liability for the entire year. Divide this number by the number of paychecks. This will represent your estimated withholdings per paycheck.

We got a big car meet up this weekend:hello:

i am salary so every 2 weeks i get the same amount in my checking/saving/401k's lol i really enjoy what i do mostly when i am used. It is so funny to know a guy is struggling with an issue who has been working in my industry for 20+ years and is so hard headed that they will not pick up the phone to call the guy who mastered the software in a year for help

/pat on the back!

It's an age issue there and yeah sometimes I wish I was back on a salary but at the same time I can make almost $20,000 more not being on salary. It's a win lose in my line of work...Salary=less money but no travel invovled Pay by the hour= More money and travel 6-8 months of the year...hmmmmm. I like money:tiphat:

Just watch those hills. They can be a killer but at the same time I would seek them out. It will help you learn the car and clutch. Of course there is always that moment when you kill the car in traffic:facepalm: and know everybody is laughing on saying "If you can't find it, grind it".

Then up my rate to a new high score ;) :bowrofl: right now my company doesnt really do much for me, i basically work for myself as is. The company im working at wants me and i think i can better myself if i try myself there!

i hate the clutch pedal in the 370z, the 350 was so much better with feeling the engagement!

yes i have the heavier spring too

Haven't driven the 370 stick yet....Love the feel of the 350's when I had it for a whole 6 months before getting the 370.
After spending $1200 after bending the forks on my corbra and then getting ripped off by a ford dealer in Huntsville,AL because my clutch plate had slipped ( got me for $1000). They seen the MO plate and seen $$$. To the parts back to my dealer and he helped me file a complaint to Ford about them. Of course nothing happened and I received $0 back.

You mean the lighter spring that is talked about on this forum as the remedy to the crappy feeling clutch?

Jasonle 02-28-2012 03:09 PM

Im having trouble starting off quick and switching from 1st-2nd...When I press the gas pedal hard in 1st it feels like its goin really slow then switch into 2nd then i get this bad jerk..and your right about hills especially during traffic..it sucks and embarassing!

take your foot off of the clutch ;)

but really sounds like something isnt right there... i dont have that problem (i dont think)

Jasonle 02-28-2012 03:19 PM

Man I need somebody to teach me! or show me how? I tried asking some ppl but they wont show me they just tell me "it takes practice you will get it" It feels like its dragging..like when i release the clutch and press hard on the gas it takes off slowwwww and then switching into 2nd its rough as crap. Not sure if this is normal

edub370 02-28-2012 03:27 PM

You sure you aren't feeling our cars overly aggressive vdc kicking in? it takes sooo much power away in first sometimes.

sometime when u get a chance, flip the vdc off (in an open area of course) and lay into it in first. also, first to second can be clunky in our cars. sounds like something taht may smooth out aftr some time behind the wheel.

and as for the lighter clutch helper springs: that really bums me out that that thing doesn't fix our vague clutch feel.... i was thinkin bout ordering one

Once you learn how to "float" the clutch you'll have it. I would say start off slow...the burns out will come with pratice. Take to a big empty lot. After about 3 months of playing around when I got my first manual I was able to smoke the tires in reverse and not kill it on steep hills.

Driving a manual can't really be shown...I've tried...it's all about time and learning your clutch and shifting points. If you hit the gears and rpms right you can shift without the clutch...I don't know about the newer trannys if you can do that but yeah it can be done.

BTW, to get kinda back on topic, are our cars supposed dyno in 4th gear or what?

yeah...4th seems to be the "power" gear..

sboden 02-28-2012 03:46 PM

I have the spring but have not put it in yet. I've gotten used to the current clutch which takes time because it is a little trickier than other clutches I've had.

edub370 02-28-2012 03:55 PM

^^ agreed. it seems like when the clutch pedal feels like your grabbing and when the pressure plate actually grabs are 2 different points

erkthejerk73 02-29-2012 11:56 AM

man what a slow day

Another update. Both guys bailed, so it's just me now. I'll try to be there around 2PM.

Wow love those...that's what I was wanting but the installer said he couldn't change out those gauges. So he put it where the GPS would of gone. My boost control switch is where the heated seats toggle switch would of gone along with the lights for the meth injection.

Kinda sux the others bailed on you.

One is going to Dallas, and the other figured there wasn't many people wanting to go and bailed.

I have no idea. Probably somewhere in a storage box. I was hoping to modify and sell it.
