The FI resonated test pipes show up on the for sale thread fairly often.

Gilianz 09-09-2013 08:34 PM

Yeah I have seen some but at the time I wasn't looking to do anything... yet. Now that I am looking for parts they don't show up at all. So I just got them from Tony. I have them sitting by me right now :) and will have them put in Friday! I am really excited.

JacksonZ33 09-10-2013 09:30 PM

So was all excited to get the 510 finally registered (I know) and was talking to boss at work, he sad the state will / can technically title as the year of the motor

So be a 1991 510, and would required to follow said laws. (Egr, cats, ect)

Now I'm all scared. Said I should drive out to miami county and hope for a fool.

m3chhawk 09-11-2013 12:38 AM

I've titled more than a handful of vehicles in Kansas and never once had them do any kind of aftertreatment checking. Obviously your situation is quite atypical, but I don't think you will run into a problem.

Worst case, you show up and they tell you they are going to title on motor vin and you fail inspection. I don't think they add that to the system, they just don't do anything with it and tell you to fix it before you bring it back.

I titled my 350Z at the title office in Lawrence and the people were complete herp derps so if you want to find a backwoods office, you don't have to go far.

Good luck.

ya just had the jeep "inspected" since was a MO car, at the office at lamar and i35. they simply check the vin numbers to match. super easy.

but asked him about my old car and he said would have to take it to their new "specialist" at the Olathe office and they would put it on a lift and such.

I was thinking about going back and hoping get some1 stupid. maybe try convincing I just fuel injected the original motor if start to push the question. Maybe show up early with couple boxes of donuts...

at worst they would tell me to come back.

edub370 09-11-2013 11:44 AM

or a couple cases of beer. seems iffy. idk how they would title a car basd on the motor.

ya forgot your new, i got rid of my z for a 510....

my dad's shopping for exhaust. I want him to get a single but he said no way.

any suggestions??

Gilianz 09-11-2013 03:20 PM

Ha I'm not THAT new but I just don't post much. But man that is awesome! Gotta love old school. I would say singe exit. Not entirely sure what other exhaust options there are... besides a custom one. You should take it to Fast Fridays next weekend!

m3chhawk 09-11-2013 03:50 PM

On the 350, the best sounding exhaust I have heard is good quality resonated test pipes and the Nismo exhaust.

didnt mean like that, just in case you were wodnering why this kid is so obsssed with z's yet doesn't have one, and goes to Fast Fridays in dad's car as passenger :hello:

will be able to participate again very soon. #1 goal is to have ready for art of machine on 29th.

at the exhaust competition at zdayz, the singles we're clear winners. but he said no way.

i remember the nismo with tp sounding very nice. wonder if there difference between stock nismo exhaust and the aftermarket "s-tune"

think he might go for this, as very cheap option, can always spring for the full exhaust later.

m3chhawk 09-12-2013 01:01 PM

Yeah it's definitely not the loudest option, but by far the sexiest sounding. God I miss that VQ35 exhaust note.....

I hope you have it ready by then too! But as for the exhaust the singles are definitely way louder not the cleanest sound though. I would go single but if you can't there are many nice options for a dual exhaust on 350 as well.

It will tell me what sensors are having issues with batteries and will give OEM and Dorman PNs, so we can get the best price. I'll post on the forum when I actually get it, along with what I'll charge to do it for you (won't be dealer price).

I got a real early birthday present, the TPMS scanner showed up Thursday. :rofl2: Now to figure out how to use it.

JacksonZ33 09-16-2013 11:59 AM

It's not a rumor. Per their Facebook page: "This Friday night FAST FRIDAYS is back bigger and better than ever!!! The biggest change will be that our neighbors Cornerstone Bank is now on team FAST FRIDAYS and will have a second DJ set up at the Bank playing oldies, giving out FREE water, and letting all FF guests use their parking lot to expand our growing number of cars, we will have a classic car area set up at Cornerstone Bank as well so that all of our 1970 and older cars will now have a area to keep the old school rides all together!"

edub370 09-16-2013 04:28 PM

yessir!

who else is down to meet up for this ff?

m3chhawk 09-16-2013 10:20 PM

I may or may not still be on the west coast for work. If I make it back, it will be last minute notice and will just text you Ethan.

Gilianz 09-17-2013 12:59 AM

Wait what's happening? I'm confused. Meeting at which b dubs? And I get my test pipes in Wednesday hopefully. I broke some shop's tools because demon bolts are too strong. I'm up for meeting up for FF. My roommates and I are all going 240sx :)

Ghostvette 09-17-2013 01:54 PM

At the moment, I have a POS Ford Escort to put back together (nephew's car). Where does FF happen at?

edub370 09-17-2013 03:00 PM

It happens at Kc trends south location off 135th this friday. It's a bi-weekly car show that usually draws a pretty decent variety of import, domestics, & exotics. This week they are renting out the bank lot next door so they can expand the size of the event so it should be a good one.

we typically meet up at buffalo wildwings at 105th and metcalf at 6:15 or so so we can all roll in together

Gilianz 09-17-2013 03:54 PM

edub if everything works out I will probably be meeting with you guys there :) It would be the first time meeting the Z community of KC!

edub370 09-17-2013 04:51 PM

Sweet dude. it should be a good event to make. we usually grab some food afterwards.

...and sometimes, i curb my wheels on the way to said food

exedy699 09-18-2013 09:06 AM

I shall try to make it to this FF.

Ghostvette 09-18-2013 10:28 AM

If I find a clutch pedal return spring for a POS Escort before then, I'll be there.

Gilianz 09-18-2013 12:08 PM

Guys!! I have my exhaust and will be having it put on as well as test pipes this afternoon! So ill be set for FF! I'm excited :happydance:

need I ask what happened??

Gilianz 09-18-2013 06:33 PM

I now have a sad update to bring you all... My exhaust doesn't sit right :(. The FI Resonated TP are slightly shorter than stock and APEX'i based the exhaust off of stock measurements. I was told to stack flanges/gaskets to make it fit right. Thoughts guys?

edub370 09-19-2013 09:20 AM

hmm that's strange. never knew their tp's were shorter...

how much shorter we talkin here? i mean if u start bolting up the exhaust up front does it not stick out right at the back? or is it just off by like 1/4" or so?

i mean if u are off by a couple gasket widths, i don't see any reason u couldn't stack gaskets. i personally would try that before i did anything else

m3chhawk 09-19-2013 01:36 PM

Post pics of the gap

Gilianz 09-19-2013 08:44 PM

Ok, I'll try to post pics of the gaps but it is currently raining out :(. And if you guys are at FF tomorrrow you'll see because I'll be there. I'm not entirely sure as to where the 1/4" gap was but i assume it was from the TP to the Y-pipe. I'll have to call and clarify again tomorrow.

edub370 09-20-2013 08:43 AM

^^ great! i thought u weren't gonna be able to make it. glad to kno u can still come out

pbhakta 09-20-2013 09:04 AM
