Private sellar on the GTR forum. it's silver. So maybe you can tak him down. Ethan was gonna go see it with me but the snow storm came and i just lost touch with the guy. I'm not ready to buy a GTR yet anyways. Thats why im not going FI on my car because as soon as a GTR gets to 40-45K in on it. He wanted 60K But for 60k you can get a GTR for 30k in miles. Trust me i look everyday! i was gonna offer him 50K it's been for sale since october.

Wow, ten more grand and I could have had a GT-R instead of the Nismo.

Yelp I'm now not going to build this car out. I will however be buying the GTM kit as a good starter. Then save the other 20k and put it toward a GTR. Screw it always wanted one and damnit if I'm going to build out a beast it's gonna be a Godzilla.

Lemers 03-31-2013 01:42 AM

80k miles on that GTR and I'm sure the last 10k were driven the Sh!t out of it.

ZKraken22 03-31-2013 10:25 AM

80K in miles is way to much even for my dream car. that car should be 40K! in price. But nice find.

Yea 20k in a GTR would get some im serious power. I'm just trying to pay off my Z and have no car payment for a while and then trade the Z in with money saved for bolt on parts and whatever. Maybe tower we can start a KCthread on the GTR forum on day.

If everything keeps going the same way, I'm hoping it will be in about a year and no more than 2. I found a 2013 GTR for 37k but it has flood damage.

Yea im looking to get one in a year. When the 2015 Nismo GTR comes out used GTR's will drop even more. What was the cost of that 2013?

sboden 03-31-2013 11:10 PM

Wow 80K on a GTR....I don't think I would have one for a daily driver but obviously that one must have been. I agree the price is a little high for that many miles. I do love the GTR but I also like the stingray corvette...would probably still go for the GTR because like the Z you don't see them all over the place.

They run normal price between $95,000 to $110,000. If you are looking for a cheap GTR just search for Salvage GTR's. Some only have cosmetic damage others are burnt to a crisp, really, burnt to nothing.

What does it take to get a flood damage car back running like new?

i dont think you would find out the damage until after 20k miles when all sensors and stuff like that start acting up. I'd avoid any car that isnt 100% cared for, yes accidents happen, but id avoid all problems if i could before they happen.

I think it may vary by state. Some states it's if the water is up to the door sill. Some may be higher. Some may be lower.

Yes, it could take a while for the "damage" to become evident. Also, to my knowledge, that salvage title stays with the car forever.

JacksonZ33 04-01-2013 11:10 AM

any1 heard the story how the silver one in kc that went up for sale not too long ago, ..... ex-wife poured a bottle of maple syrup in the tank and seized up the engine.

ZKraken22 04-01-2013 11:18 AM

where did you hear this from?

I'm sure that most of these are coming from the east coast. Even if you can pick it up for $35k and spend $10k on having someone go over every single part. I'd say it would be worth it. At the same time you'd never be able to sell it again with the salvage title tattooed to the car.

right pretty crazy. guy in the z club knows all about it. it was on craigslist in leawood for awhile. took it to dealership when it started messing up. had no idea.sure it was fixed but to what extent.

flooded one would be scary. impacted if you could prove it was straight as an arrow.

I wouldn't mind salvage title just don't ever tell anyone or sell ever. tho then it always be like the supermodel girlfriend, that no ones has herp.:rofl2:

even on prefect ones scare me tho...... knowing the people who buys these are either

A. Rich guys Daily - prolly take less care of them than any of us our z's. not expensive car in their eyes. cheaper than then Range Rover. Know of at least 2 locals who daily their's.

B. Enthusiast. rode hard, a lot. put into launch mode so many times, he is now getting rid of it.. for new one. probably has track time on it.

C. Never used - low milage super pricey still, most likely driven very hard on sunday, before even broke in yet. put right back in garage.

mcconned 04-01-2013 05:41 PM

+1 to Jackson's story about the maple syrup in the gas tank. At the time he was a cop in the neighboring suburb where it happened.

ZKraken22 04-01-2013 06:49 PM

I woudnt mind salvage either. Ive had a Salvage tile car. Was able to sale it for what i bought it for too!!

tower74 04-01-2013 09:10 PM

Well about to try this whole FI thing again.... Just put my name on the list for the group buy of the GTM twin turbo kit. Plus a clutch and exhaust. Damnit this time it has to go better than the STS kit.:ugh2:

tower74 04-01-2013 09:12 PM

That is the goal. Nothing to much plus with a real exhaust it shouldn't be so f'ing loud like the last one.

Re. Branson Z Fest, depending on your budgets, vacation time, etc. I encourage you to come down early in the week to drive the great roads down there. I plan on arriving Tuesday and spending Wednesday-Friday driving various routes in Arkansas, southern Missouri, Eureka Springs, the Pig Trail, etc.

BZF is a very "loose" event. The only "official" events are the drag strip on Friday afternoon and the car show Saturday. Other than that you're on your own to plan your own drive(s) or hook up with folks who have already planned one.

Maps are available but most of the drives I take I found here:

Motorcycling - Harrison Arkansas
