How many of us are thinking about or are for sure getting this kit? Thinking about is where I'm at on this.

m3chhawk 03-19-2013 09:36 PM

$5600 for a turn-key is incredible

ZKraken22 03-19-2013 09:37 PM

i really wanna get the car paid off first. Its gonna be bewteen getting a used GTR or this kit. just gonna see what the money is looking like life is crazy lol I really dont want a car payment again and the GTR is gonna be a big car payment!! so everyday its gonna be different lol How soon do you think youll pull the trigger?

You will spend the cost of this kit in maintenance for a GTR every 10-15k miles...

Z U L8er 03-19-2013 10:04 PM

Depending on cash flow next week. Half down and pay over 12 months but will pay it off early. Really hoping to get the tier 3 price.

ZKraken22 03-19-2013 10:11 PM

Maintenance isnt what you think. A guy here in KC is selling his GTR for 50,000. It does have alot of miles 49K but he just took it up to macarthy nissan to get maintenanced and it wasnt bad at all. I've joined the GTR forum to learn more about the maintenance. Buying new rotors and tires are the biggest expenses. That said i never buy the OEM tires or parts back on the car. Why pay 4k for a set of GTR OEM rotors when i can just get aftermarket for 2K for all four wheels. same for tires. why spend 2k for a set of tires when i can buy Nitto Invo size 285 30 20 for $282. Maintenance of a turbo Z would be in the same ball park with the GTR they are both a nissan and pretty much the same engine. At the end of the day your taking a NA car to a turbo car so id feel better getting a car that was made to be turbo'd.

I'm about to write a check and send it to them....that close. I'm already going to buy their 4.2L this coming winter. So why not I say. Going for the 20g turn key set with 3" exhaust......sh*t 700hp+ might hit by Feb of next year at these prices.

yea you wont see your car again for two years!! GTM is so slow lol i guess they have a lot of volume.

edub370 03-20-2013 07:28 AM

if they can offer the same financing on their stage 1.5 sc and work the price down slightly (to be on par with this kit), then i'm going that route. looking for engine longevity, and a DIY install. only thing that still gets me about a tt system is i cant do a home install

I'll be damned if I have that happen. I'm buying the full engine and having it shipped to me. Going to keep the stock engine as a back up and also for number matching purposes.

well.. let me rephrase i guess. i dont wanna do 48+ hours on a home install WIHOUT a lift... would rather take a long weekend and knock out a sc kit. that and the lower torque on the sc kit is really pulling me that way

side note: does anyone in kc know where i can get a taco truck for the dyno day? figured that may be better than getting pizza

thats smart. because i would laugh so hard if they had your car 6 months to a year :roflpuke2: but on the other hand youd have extremely low miles!!

and they also, from what I've been reading, include a blown engine for free after a few thousand miles. S & R that is..

pbhakta 03-20-2013 01:27 PM

Off subject but...
Seriously more SNOW! when will it ever end... though it helps me procrastinate more in finishing all the stuff on the car.

I've seen a ton of roach coaches around town. Some of them have f*cking awesome food. Just have to locate them and ask. I'm sure they will show up for 40+ people eating.

mcconned 03-20-2013 04:18 PM

Check with Chad at KC Trends. He has a coach come out for Fast Fridays but I haven'l a clue who it is.

I forget when the dyno is but is there is time, you might want to check out a First Friday's in the Crossroads District. There are usually several there and you can sample their offerings.
