I learned a hard lesson with my 350Z though, so I refuse to sink too much money into this one until its closer to being paid off. And before I do that, I have to find/build/get an AR before isht hits the fan. Luckily I think the wife is going to buy me one with our income tax return for my 40th birthday here in a few weeks. We might put the rest into the principle left on the Z, so that will be a huge dent in paying it off. So parts shall ensue shortly after. :-)

I gotta get some stuff in there so I can show up at the meets without looking so stock.

Speaking of ar's, check what i put togetther last week...

http://www.the370z.com/members/edub3...ut-75-done.jpg

stock and buffer tube should be here tomorrow.

but yea i would get one asap if u ever want one. side note, what if u just put some hfc's or tp's on your nismo to give it some more volume on the cheap?

thats just the beginning, it honestly needs at least $7-10k in repairs and such just to get it back to "proper shape" at 147k everything is failing now.

not sure its gunna be safe enough for zdayz this year. for the dragon or the trip there.

And Im having hard time justifying picking up a car payment. Dont get me wrong I love the 370, but for me, is it 3x the car?? I dont think there's many cars under $30 are worthy of paying heavily every month for or are that much better than my z

then im back in a stock car too:mad:

really struggling with this now..... im mean you all talked yourself into them, do you ever regret it...... especially those of you who have had z33's (or g's scott)

well.... i would like to say i have been 100% sold on my z, but car payments do get old. with that being said, i do love this car. its nice turning heads like i'm driving a $200k car when i take it out.

there are other options for your car purchase. maybe a newer 350? base 370's are going for like $21k now too

Lemers 01-23-2013 04:40 PM

So as soon as the tow truck rolls on base it has a problem with its air breaks. Now I'm baby sitting the tow truck until another tow truck comes to help him and get my car.

oh shiz. how did i miss this post. dang that sucks. but good thing u are under warranty. get that new one in and pull the fuse as soon as u get her home

Lemers 01-23-2013 05:22 PM

Won't they give me the fuse from later model that won't have the same problem?

Can't see what brand lower that is. Good job though, if the wife doesn't get me one for the birthday, I'm gonna go that route.

Same. I had an 04 350Z, with a full Ing N-Spec kit, springs, intake, wheels, CBE, Test pipes, intake, plenum/spacer, CF hood and spoiler and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. It was a lot of fun, but with the Nismo, I feel like I started better than where I left off, which to me is a great thing. It's stylish and turns heads, performs better than my 350Z, and makes me happy every time I turn it on. Which is why I'm not totally sweating putting aftermarket parts in it yet.

Looking at that list above kinda makes me sad a little.

Lemers 01-23-2013 05:34 PM

Hey it's not cursed if it is still under warranty. Since I have less than a month left its actually great timing, cause if this happened at the end of February they would be charging me around $1000.

yeah they will give you the upgrade set up. You shouldn't have a problem after it gets changed out. They know about the problem but will not recall the cars.

LOL.

Hmmm bad things do seem to happen around him. *looks over at Premal*

edub370 01-23-2013 05:48 PM

i need to know who put the curse on me. well lets see, last dyno day, digi came up and his car is on its third trans, so i'm guessing he had the curse. a lil while later i had to get a new trans. i passed it on to premals car with the door ding, and last meet he passed it on to lemers... question is.. who's next.

on the steering lock problem, i wouldnt trust any rev of the lock that nissan gives u. nissan went thru 4 revisions of the software and still couldnt get it right. i would just pull the fuse for insurance

Lemers 01-23-2013 07:23 PM

Finally at 7pm the tow truck got its st!t together and got my car.

My 03 Z33 was started to rack up miles and knock and other little stuff going downhill so I decided to pull the trigger and go Z34 back in October and I have yet to regret it. Don't miss the Z33 at all.

Will probably pair up the Berk CBE eventually, but wanna hear how it sounds this way for a bit

I should have a Fast Intentions CBE in a few weeks if you want to hear it before buying anything.

Thats what trey is running on his gray 370. absolutely love the sound of that system. such a smooth exhaust note. would love to here one with test pipes tho

Lemers 01-24-2013 10:07 AM

Dealer called me... It is the steering wheel lock (as if we didn't know). It's gonna take them a week to get the parts in and fix the car. I need to bring them my spare key because they are going to reprogram them. They are going to give me a loaner car while they have mine. No mention of this not being under warranty.

Hey I looked at mine again but haven't been able to jack it up to confirm 100% (I will this weekend tho) but im fairly certian mine are fast intentions resonated test pipes and not HFC. I base that off of looking at fast intentions website comparing HFC to the test pipes and HFC are dull looking and the test pipes are shiny. And when I look under my car mne are shiny. But again ill look at it this weekend to confirm.

Z06WHO 01-24-2013 10:57 AM

Also if anyone is interested im selling my daily driver as ive bought a new one for work. Its a 1997 honda civic ex and its a great running car. Willing to work a deal with any Z guys that are looking for a DD. If anyone is interested or knows someone that might be just lmk thanks.

So I was wrong. My original warranty date was 16 jan 2010. So it is done. But I did get the extended warranty we will see how this claim goes.

ya cause honestly could have darn near had a 370 if i hadnt been buynig stuff all the time

might go look at a white 350 nismo today, been a this dealership for more than 6mo now. asking 24k

another part of me wants and evo.

Lemers 01-24-2013 03:56 PM

Well he said he's gonna first try the extended warranty company (because that's the right route). If they don't pay then I'm gonna tell them I want a refund (probably never see a dime) and start a more diligent effort to find a new car (maybe a 2013 Shelby or Boss)

is that the nismo your dad took a picture with on the scavenger hunt?

i wanted an evo before my z. great handling, great power..... then i sat in one. didnt even drive one to determine i could not live with that interior quality. its baaaaaaaaaad

plus, i wouldn't trust mitsu to be in business more than 5 more years

Yes it's the same nismo.

Ya seems like a lot of stuff would break on the evo. I love the z community too, so that would be weird to abandon.

Really don't think I would buy a 370 base. Would only cost more in the long run.

edub370 01-24-2013 10:12 PM

That 350 nismo is amazing looking. I vote that route

Funny what you said about Mitsu going out of business. I recently read an article and the writer said the exact same thing. The majority of Mitsu line up is out of date and they don't have the money to update. Basically, they only have money to freshen up the bodies and not the platforms. Kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. Also, the Mitsu dealer network is shrinking/abandoning ship.

tower74 01-25-2013 07:46 AM

Well it seems that most people don't want to give up there exhaust or they don't have the stock exhaust. Soooooo the kit without anything will be $3000. That means you don't have to give me crap except money for the kit. I got stock cats and an exhaust set on standby.
Also you will have to get new wiring for the kit. Just tearing out the interior wiring has been a f'ing beating and not trying to make this tear out take 2 weeks. Now I just need to get it on the lift and the rest should come out in a matter of days.

JacksonZ33 01-25-2013 10:53 AM

so put a new thermostat in and still overheating, and even while overheating my lower radiator hose is still way cold (ie thermo not opening)

put my "broken one" on stove last night and it opened. im at a loss

Have u looked inside radiator so see if the fluid is flowing?
Have u cleaned or replaced yr radiator?
Could be a clogged heater core?
Do u still get hot air blowing from vents?

I ask these as I make sure all these are ok before I go to compression check and leak down test. I've delt with a lot of subaru's with bad headgaskets lol.

JacksonZ33 01-25-2013 12:00 PM

ya replaced radiator 6mo ago.

im 95% sure its not flowing, the lower hose is cold, so its getting hotting and not getting past the thermo. but lie u said could be something else before thermo

the air bubble would have to be bigger than my fist to keep the coolant from heating it up the thermo. and really the air would get pushed thru the little relief hole

when I remove lower hose, small amount of coolant is making it thru the relief hole. just not fully opening.:icon14: even when well above 170

some1 said just remove the thermostat, or drill the relief hole way bigger

On a side note..it doesn't take much or time to get a Z back to stock on this forum. Maybe $570 or so to get the car back to stock. I might be screwed on the cubby hole though.

Those cz's are great guns. My old roommate has in. Such an underrated gun. How was getting the ccl?

ya only 150 rounds thru it so far, but I like. Could been last chance to get high capacity, and with my cc class the next day, I pulled the trigger (haha)

cc class wasn't bad at all, semi-boring, but wont admit I didn't learn a couple new things. Did it thru state of Florida, cause it 41 state legal/transferable.

Still got to get my finger prints done ( thus far avoided my prints on record haha)

tower74 01-27-2013 03:30 PM

Well if all the parts come in next week then I'm hoping to go get the car this next weekend. I know I'm gonna take a beating on the car with the hole in the cubby hole:shakes head:.

Update on the sell.....
Body Kit--- Sold
Hood----Sold
Still have the turbo kit....$2750 (price drop from $3000) That's me giving you the kit without you giving me anything ( except money:tup: ). You will need to get the wiring...Sorry but it's a pain to get out and it'll be quicker for me to just to cut it out. Also you will need to buy gauges.

sboden 01-27-2013 03:59 PM

Edub...it is actually a PS90 as the P90 is the military version. I'll get it from OMB Guns in Olathe, KS. They have a demo you can shoot in their indoor range. It would be the long barrel version also. I have a special discount which lets me get it for just over $800 but there is a waiting list and who knows what will happen nationally while on the list.....

Tower...wish I had the money to take some of those parts off your hand but my house purchase took care of all the things I was going to do to the Z. My next purchase would actually be a DD, so the Z can play in the garage during the winter and bad weather. The DD will be a full size pickup as I want the ability to haul stuff and get around in the snow if it ever happens.

tower74 01-27-2013 04:15 PM

It's cool. The only thing I'm waiting for is answer on the cats. Everything else should be in this week. Then it's tear down 100% time and new car hear I come.
