I'll let those closer to KC guys answer the food question as far as shopping either the Legends or the Plaza. The Plaza has higher end food places also. There is Crown Center for shopping as a third alternative.

Jasonle 01-27-2013 05:36 PM

have any of you guys stayed downtown Kansas city? recommend a nice hotel?

It would be the long barrel version also. I have a special discount which lets me get it for just over $800 but there is a waiting list and who knows what will happen nationally while on the list.....

Tower...wish I had the money to take some of those parts off your hand but my house purchase took care of all the things I was going to do to the Z. My next purchase would actually be a DD, so the Z can play in the garage during the winter and bad weather. The DD will be a full size pickup as I want the ability to haul stuff and get around in the snow if it ever happens.

Wait, how you getting a PS90 for 800??????? Group buy, I'm in!

I have a Springfield XD that I CC. I need to get a good IWB holster for it, but I have it hidden on me dang near always. Good luck on getting those fingerprints done Jackson, once thats done it takes a while to process. Thankfully the law still permits you to have your firearm in your car, so its not like you can't take it with you for emergency purposes.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. The plaza is the nicest place to eat and stay. AVOID WESTPORT. It use to be nice but now it's nice place to get mugged.

Jasonle 01-27-2013 06:09 PM

marriot Kansas city downtown heard anything about that hotel? My wife's birthday. She is excited :)

edub370 01-27-2013 06:11 PM

Mariot is a nice hotel. I think u would enjoy it

Jasonle 01-27-2013 06:17 PM

I think Guy Fiery did Oklahoma Joes BBQ but I might be mistaken. Personally, I think Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ is the best and the environment will be the nicest for all the BBQ places. If you're staying downtown, here is the closest one:

101 W 22nd St
Kansas City, Mo

If money doesn't matter, I'd hit up Plaza III Steakhouse or 801 Chophouse when you're looking for steak.

JacksonZ33 01-27-2013 07:24 PM

I'm not worried, I can wait. The teacher (and friend of mine) said he got his back next week.

Guy went to Johnny's BBQ in mission, (I know the owner, went today actually.)

As far as like "date night" stay on the plaza. Eat, see movie and just walk around window shop. Won't be busy, and be relatively safe

If spending. Fogo de choa (meat lovers dream) Capital grille, plaza III

Cheap options too there. Blanc burger, California pizza, bo lings, noodles and co, and so on

If your downtown snow and co. is a nice date spot. (Fancy super strong frozen cocktails)

I can give better details depending on exactly where u are.

Jasonle 01-27-2013 07:29 PM

I might try Blanc Burger...it seems popular for burgers! Thanks again everyone!

It is a discount only I can get. It is not a group buy. I don't really need one but it is almost an investment now. I could resale it for a profit at that price but honestly the way things are going it will be worth way more in the future.

I stayed at the "The Q" for NYE, and it was nice.

LOL you really don't think I thought it was a group buy I hope. :icon14: I realize that, I was hoping you would extend that kind of deal to us all. ;) Of course I'm also wondering how you managed to get one so cheap. My guess, you've got a friend who works in LE who can order one for ya. Regardless, I'm mad jealous. It is definitely an investment, and on my short list of weapons to buy. Have you seen the .22 LR conversion they did on Sons of Guns? Perfect zombie control weapon. =)

You never know if someone is being serious or not but now I know to take you as a smart *** :happydance:. I didn't see that conversion. I'm sure it was crazy fun.

My dad spent 20+ hours on it. asks for all these different concepts and ideas, finally picks one. Now he refuses to pay more than $100 for all the work. Now that it comes time to pay, is telling us how un-talented we are and how much or work sucks. Pretty much said f#ck your lawyer, and is gunna take our work to some1 else to have it copied,

writing bad reviews on me and my dad on yelp. getting way out of hand.....

They are giving you great advise! The Plaza is probably the most "romantic". As already mentioned, great place to walk, window shop, and some of the best dining in KC. Nearer to the Downtown Marriott is te Power & Light District. It's directly across the street from the Sprint Center and basically a over a block of bars and dining places.

Enjoy!!

tower74 01-28-2013 05:38 PM

:excited:Well if it doesn't rain tomorrow the car goes on the lift.
Damnit it's like when I went to get the kit on the car. Now I'm just as happy to get the kit off the car. Damn if I can get it all off the old girl and the car by this weekend or even next weekend I'll be stoked as hell :happydance:. Then the 13th of Feb. I get my new TV and living room set. Christmas in Feburary....since the one in December sucked.

Lemers 01-28-2013 05:42 PM

My car is still at the dealer. Apparently the dealer doesn't keep the steering lock fuse parts in stock for this "known problem"

What a f'ing douche:eek:. I'm not the peaceful type when it comes to someone that owes me money. A marble in the gas tank and some spare time and it'll ruin his day. Just saying...I've never done that before:wtf2:

Stupid rain!!! Now I'm a day behind. Now stupid snow!!! Ugh KC weather 70's one day snow the next.

Lemers 01-29-2013 05:59 PM

Got my car back just in time for the bad whether.

The steering lock actuator on paper was $1300 parts and labor. Then add in the rental car and tow. Probably would have cost me $1500 to $1600. But since I got the extended warranty it only cost me $150 dollars for deductible and a portion of the tow.

Hell of a deal. Trust me I know all about that....thought I would be able to start tearing my car down last weekend so I began tearing sh*t out. Then what happens, it's in the 60's and 70's all weekend and I can't get my car onto the lift because it's being used.

JacksonZ33 01-30-2013 12:01 PM

ya that story makes me what to steer clear of a new car. ridiculous.

if some1 would trade me a nice 510 for my z I would take it in a heart beat.
i've scoured prolly 40 different cities craigslists looking for one.

mcconned 01-30-2013 12:12 PM

I don't know if this helps Jackson but I googled "Datsun 510 for sale" and a few came back. I didn't dig too deep into it to determine if ads were current, etc.

Good luck. I've laways loved the 510 either 2 door, 4 door, or wagon.

really only want 2 dr. but for right price/condition would take 4dr or wagon.

ya, most I saw were years old. or just not right. stalking japanese nostalgic car and ratsun too.

i've found a couple decent ones around. most are shells or in need or restoration. I need one thats rust free, with semi-good paint. I just don't have time for another restore, i'd rather just ditch my z and get a really one.

honestly most just aren't nice enough. their out there, but now a days everyone has money again and isn't letting go of their toys

Right place at the right time. The gun shop had just opened the box and I snatched it up.

I got a Ruger SR556 with the shorty EOtech site that is begging me to take her out but the price of ammo is crazy right now, and I don't want to burn through my stash anymore than I have!

Anything that is firearm related is pay to play. How much, is the variable. I'm thinking of swapping my upper for .22 LR upper that you can order from Panther Arms, so range days are cheap.

I'm going to start hording ammo here soon, but I will get out and get some practical use out of this sucker. After I field stripped it yesterday, I realized just how rusty my old Army skills really are. Which makes me worried maybe my Jiu-Jutsu might just as rusty.

There's an old samurai proverb that goes something like, "when you don't use your weapons, your blades get dull." I've been home from A'stan less than a year and I'm definitely thinking my weapons are getting dull already.
