Ya sounded like a p!ssed off 6 year old. I was freakin out at first. Thought I blew my motor.

Luckily McCarthy had one sitting on the shelf. Waiting for it to cool down. Fingers crossed.

Lemers 07-24-2012 06:15 PM

I just saw a monterey blue with blacked out fangs and door handles, also had what looked like a NISMO s tuned spoiler driving in Leavenworth on 10th street at 610pm. Looked like a female driver. Any ideas if that car is part of a Z club.

JacksonZ33 07-24-2012 06:56 PM

Yes I beleive I do kno who's that is. Look at the blue 370 in my pic from "art of machine event" on previous page. Nots scotts tho.

She came to the show last year, for her first and only event
I beleive she did say she was from Leavenworth.

Edit---

So it was definelty the TB but now I'm plagued by the reset procedures. I'm going crazy and after 100 trys and thinking I got em all right still feels all wrong.

Any ideas beside running to dealership with tail between legs?

Have you reset the ECU? If not then unhook the neutral side ( black ) and wait about 30 seconds then hook it back up. Plus changing out a throttle body would be simple. Have I said how much I hate Cleveland?

Jackson, You're thinking of Heather. She did a couple of events with us. She lives in Weston and works in Leavenworth. Cute gal and, the last I heard, she's single. About 20 years old.

:yum: :leghump:

JacksonZ33 07-24-2012 09:01 PM

Yahoo I got it fixed,

Pulling battery cable is only simple ecu reset, not full. There's also reset procedures for, Idle Air Volume Learning, throttle valve position, accelerater pedal postion adjustment.

Hey everyone. I'm a few hours from getting on that plane to leave Afghanistan for the last time. Not sure about Friday, as I think I'm gonna go see my boy. Wasn't there something going on, on Sunday?

Either way, hope to see you guys soon.

Welcome back! My neighbors kid just got back a couple of months ago. He was in the Marines.

I thought it was St Joe but Dan says Weston and should know better than me. That is the only event I've seen her at. She has a base model I believe with the other spoiler. She didn't have anything blacked out at the time. We talked for a while. She and her dad were very friendly. If I remember right, she lives on a gravel road....don't know if I could do that with my Z.

mcconned 07-25-2012 08:45 AM

She and her then boyfriend went on the Ft. Leavenworth homers tour.

sboden 07-25-2012 09:40 AM

Its basically the Nismo wing but he had flat black accents painted on it. One of the reasons I'm interested due to my blk top.

mcconned 07-25-2012 11:22 AM

How much would it obstruct your rear vision?

mcconned 07-25-2012 11:26 AM

Re the Art of the Machine Sunday, I just received a note that "Project Phoenix", the 280Z track car HAZCC built, will be on display. The owner, Mike Hamilton, races it quite a bit at Heartland Park, Hallet (OK.), and MAM (IA.) Mike loves the Z and reports it's reliability is "bulletproof" especially compared to his previous track car...a Porsche 914.

No more than a Nismo wing. I've driven a Nismo and there really isn't much difference in visibility between the sport wing and the Nismo wing. Zcar_Dad would be able to verify this. I wouldn't be adding anything that Nissan didn't already have available on the Z. I would just be adding a replica instead of the actual Nissan part.

edub370 07-25-2012 12:52 PM

it would definately be unique. our cars rear visibility is already crappy enough, so wahts another 3" on the spoiler. i say go for it

JacksonZ33 07-26-2012 02:31 PM

after spending all last weekend on family wedding events,

happy to say I will be attending both Fast Fridays tomorrow and the Art of Machine on Sunday. as will be my dad his nismo

sboden 07-26-2012 07:53 PM

I'm sad to miss both but it will be high of upper 70's at the lake all weekend, so it takes the edge off........

nice. i think im hitting up both too! looks like we got a good group of subies + a gto coming to b dubs at 6.

anyone else wanna meet up??

mcconned 07-27-2012 11:08 AM

If you're joining us Sunday, please note:

"*We will have a private room at Minsky's and will receive a 10% discount!

*In the interest of safety, they want us all to arrive together. Due to the number of shoppers/pedestrians City Market doesn't want a bunch of cars coming and going throughout the day. After we enter the entrance will be blocked and the security officer may not let late arrivals enter.

*Likewise, if at all possible, they want us to stay until the end of the show. I am confused though about this. The show is scheduled to run until 2 (I thought) but they want us to stay until 3 pm. Notice "if possible". I know last year some folks left early.

*Exit the same way we entered.

*No alcohol or BBQ grills.

*We have received permission to leave our cars parked where they are for our get together at Minsky's."

i might be out then as i wont be able to stay until 2. if i cant leave early that will be the deal breaker as i have to be somewhere in the afternoon

mcconned 07-27-2012 04:46 PM

I wouldn't worry about it. I think they are trying to discourage a lot of coming and going. We had people leave early last year without a problem.

Nuki 07-29-2012 11:57 AM

Hey everyone.

So got back Thursday. I was dog tired, but I still took out the Nismo. I think what I posted on my350z sums it up:

I might get hated on for saying this, but it is leaps and bounds more car than my old 350z was. In just about every aspect. I LOVE this car.

Ended up taking the Z up to Iowa to see my little man who's at the grandparents for the summer. I had to see my lil man. Saw a black 370Z on friday on my way outta town, so a shout out to him if he's here.

Got back last night. So I've done my first "long" trip in it, and I can definitely say that I enjoyed it just as much on the freeway (road noise and all) as I did thursday night cruising around KC.

I want to try to make out to todays event but the Z needs washing. Bad.

tower74 07-30-2012 08:29 AM

Ahhh hell. I think I maybe done will all the traveling BS with this job. Got offered a new job making a nice 6 figure salary. Waiting right now to figure out if they are going to fly me and my 400lbs of tools home or drive home. Either way after yesterday almost loosing my pinky yesterday, I'm done. This damn job was trying to leave a little bit more of me before I left it. Nothing like having your pinky finger being crushed by a 1000lb dish:crying:. Forgot to take pic's of it but let just say it looked like a flat tire....and somehow didn't break:ugh2:. Still hurts like hell.
So I might be able to be around more often for any gatherings. Once to car is fixed....

mcconned 07-30-2012 08:50 AM

Re. The Art of the Machine, thanks to all of you who braved the heat to attend. Also, a special thanks to Jackson for his recruiting efforts. We had about 26 cars there of almost every generation. It was a great "history" of the Z.

Jackson, please post photos.

JacksonZ33 07-30-2012 11:55 AM

thanks dan,

ya you guys really missed out. I had a blast this year. best z event I been to in kc ever. big thanks to #bigpoppa (hehe) and #lemers for coming out and representing the 370's.

most of my pics were horrible, i kept jumping to a preset i thought was perfect and it was set all kinds of wrong so i have grainy pics.... GRRRRRRRRR

You and me both. Pueblo ...owner of the blue supra said a year ago he was going to sell his for $35,000...and it has 600+hp. I doubt that price is still good.

20 year old Toyota for $35k? I blame Fast and Furious.

JacksonZ33 08-02-2012 12:26 PM

i'd rather supercharge a nsx. i lean toward style over speed

edub370 08-02-2012 12:29 PM

they are pricey. but being able to handle 800hp on stock internals is impresive

tho, the nsx's are sexy

tower74 08-05-2012 02:02 AM

Well start the new job on Monday. It's probably gonna mean the Z is gone once I get everything fixed. Test pipes will be ordered tomorrow and the tune will follow shortly after. I don't know if Chad is gonna get his UpRev by then but if not then it's off to Union,Mo to get it done.
Then the car will probably be sold....out of state to someone who doesn't know about all the issues I've had with this system. Couldn't do that to someone local and find out the car blew up a few weeks later. I doubt it will but ya never know.

edub370 08-05-2012 09:21 PM

That's a bummer to hear. So are u on to bigger and better things for your next toy, or u getting another z some day?

Btw, You should sell me the kit for hella cheap! ;)
