yes lets do large ff gathering. last week it seemed like corvette night haha.

also idk if any of you are current "hazcc" members and im sure Dan will step in here but I'm planning on going to the "Art of the Machine Car Show" that sunday (29th) as well.

Had a lot of fun last year so im going back. Basically it's our (z club's) week to bring cars down and park in the Downtown City Market, while people shop

That shoulda interesting.

sboden 07-17-2012 03:35 PM

Sadly, Papa smurf won't be there this year. Last year was the first meet for me with the club. I had a great time. I highly encourage club members to go and also those who are considering joining HAZCC. It is a generational club as you can see in the pics.

When is this gonna happen?

If your talking the Art of the Machine, it is the morning of Sunday, July 29th.

Nuki 07-18-2012 12:21 PM

I'm going to try to make it to something that weekend. I gotta be honest with you guys though, the wife might have some alone time planned for me that weekend. Its been a while since I've been home after all.

zcar_dad 07-18-2012 03:07 PM

I am a member of both HAZCC and Kansas City Z Club. Last year was my 2nd or 3rd time going to City Market. It is always interesting by questions shoppers ask and talking to the other club members. Bring chairs and lots of water or other fluid as it will be HOT. I cannot remember the meeting place at 0900 but it is about a block away. I am sure Dan will post it here, if not I will look it up tonight and post tomorrow.

zcar_dad 07-19-2012 07:46 AM

The meeting place for the City Market Car show is the parking lot at the NE Corner of 3rd and Grand between 9:00 - 9:30 am for last minute detailing. At 9:59 am will parade as a group into the City Market area. This is on Sunday, July 29th.

hey even if you dont come at 9 to participate in the show, you can still come any time that morning and just stop by. awesome places to take your lady for breakfast, pick up stuff from the farmers market and "oh look honey it happens to be a z car show....."

but hey I too would be trying to spend time at home, if I was you.

LOL she knows me too well. She'd see all the cars and instantly call me out. Although we love the farmers market, that right there might be enough to convince her. Besides, its not like she isnt here on this board. Probably has read this all anyway.

Only because she saw all the hits from you in the history and wanted to see what you were up to.

You're right, she travelled all the way out here to Afghanistan and looked at the cookies on my NIPR machine. LOL

She has an account on here because our Nismo has made her a true enthusiast of the car, and this place has most of the information when you do a search for 370Z based info.

I know what you're getting at, and while that might be true for most wives, and perhaps even mine at one point, it isn't the case here. Sorry man, you're just plain wrong here.
Besides, I've been working in IT for about 15 years now. If I didn't know how to clear cookies and erase history, i'd have not made it past my first year. lol

LOL @ Edub.

Pretty sure he was just kidding......my wife over the years has become much more a sport enthusiast than she ever was. With my fast MC's and cars, it has all rubbed off on her. Now she will still roll her eyes at times with some of the stuff I buy or go to :wtf2:

mcconned 07-22-2012 12:43 PM

I apologize Jackson and Joe for the delay responding. My paying job, the one that allows me the luxury of owning a Z, has been demanding a lot of my time and brain power.

As Jackson and Joe posted, the Heart of America Z Car Club will be the featured club/marque at the weekly Art of the Machine in the City Market next Sunday, July 29th.

We will begin gathering in the parking lot on the NE corner of 3rd & Grand. At 9:59 we'll parade into the City Market. Last year we displayed by generation starting with the 240 Z. The crowd and the City Market management were impressed with the fact the Z's were lined so folks could see the transformation and evolution of the Z car over 42 years. Consequently, we will be departing the staging area by generation.

The car show runs officially from 10 am to 2 pm. My experience is the crowd is very respectful of the cars i.e. being hands off.

After the show, about 2 pm we'll walk a couple of steps over to Minsky's for food and beverage.

Yes, the weather is hot but there is shade for us plus there are lot's of stores, shops, restaurants, etc. to go to "chill out". Ever been to the Steamboat Arabia Museum? That's a great place to spend time. If you're new to the area, I think you'll really enjoy the area.

In case I left something out please refer to our website: Heart of America Z Car Club or to our Facebook page Heart of America Z Car Club.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all. I'll be the guy with the big hat, loud shirt, and even bigger and louder mouth, and a Daytona Blue 350Z roadster.

Dan

JacksonZ33 07-22-2012 02:07 PM

Thanks Dan, just tryin to help recruit some z lovers.

Well it finally happened to me.... Debris right in the middle of my lane with no where to go. Cracked my lip real good.

Knew when going low , that it would happen someday. At least I'm not afraid of fiberglass, and I didn't buy a carbon fiber one.

Lemers 07-22-2012 03:46 PM

I am not a member of HAZCC, because i just moved into the area. Will I still be allowed to participate on the 29th?

this!!!!! if you haven't been to anything/wanna meet us, I say come to FF. I typically only stay 1.5 hours. huge variety of cars. (I call show and shine)

not to like go through and generalize the z community here in kansas. but as any body new this might help a lil.......

HAZCC (heart of america z car club) - formal club, monthly socials, very well organized events. It is closely ran to the standards of a sanctioned ZCCA club, although it is not. includes all z's new and old, as well as people of all ages. very nice group of guys. $35 to join, but as a formal club there's tons of sponsors and discounts. ( I use the dealership discount on parts )

Kansas City Z Club - most easily put, a internet based club. now z_cardad can step in on this one, but as far as I know his son Pete Schulte started this club. They put together various cruises, and there's some pretty cool builds ongoing on that forum. not a TON of action, but their still active.

Then there's this here page, as much as he won't own it up to it, Ethan (edub) runs the show haha. I'd say the people in here have found their way here cuz their very active.... and honestly half of this group isn't represented on this page (kcsubaruclub.) really only put together one "real" event of our own, a dyno day. but we make an effort to represent z's in many of the city's events such as Fast Fridays, charity shows, spring meets, ect..... This page is is easiest way to find whats going on across the board.

seriously any1 step in here and correct or add anything.....

well said sir.

also it might be noted that if u ever here of any car events or anything going on then throw it up on here. we have a pretty good group of guys in this area, and can always get a few cars out and about for cruises, meets, etc...

Nuki 07-23-2012 11:42 AM

LOL well with the wife being such an enthusiast about our Z, I'm sure at some point I'll make it out to see everyone. I've been active on my350Z for a looong time, and know many of the members there, at least in an online sense. Just never had a chance to see them in person because I've been here for so long. Hopefully thats all going to change in...78 hours. =)

Do we have any members here who are on that board by any chance? If so, we might have spoken before. Which reminds me, gotta go ban Erk.. cuz he's a poopy head.

LOL just kidding bro. Quit stalking me though. rofl

JacksonZ33 07-23-2012 11:50 AM

that might be me... 370z guys let me hang out with them cuz there is seriously zero action on the 350 site anymore (kc wise that is.) But still feel that is a far superior forum.

haha, ya sucks you dont get mod privileges here (for those who didnt know nuki is like supermod there)

edit--

Actully it is an official club with a yearly membership (check website for amount) also my older son, Michael, is the brains behind it. In the past, either in the spring or early fall there is a dyno day. The club is looking into becoming a member club of "Nissan Sport Magazine" were a yearly membership will be included in your membership fee. A lot of the members are into autocross and track days as well and faithfully follow F1 racing (some of us going to Austin, Texas for the US Grand Prix in November).

mcconned 07-23-2012 12:43 PM

Sure, everyone is welcome to come and show their cars. It would be great to meet you guys. Sorry I didn't make it more clear earlier.

TenaciousZ 07-23-2012 01:15 PM

My new plates finally got here.

The city market thing this Sunday sounds awesome.

Not a member of any of the official groups but would love to check it out.

I'll be in Austin for the race as well. I'm hoping with this 6 week trip i can finally get my car finished. That includes the new body kit and wraping up to this nightmare turbo system.:ugh2:
