i dont think u will need to tape anything. i wouldn't get a tune till u get the rest of your supporting mods (i.e. intake, hfc's, etc..) closest shop that is uprev certified is modified by kansas city. they did my tune

Z U L8er 12-17-2012 11:39 AM

Do you know which intake will work with a sc. I like the stillen gen 3 but I don't think they will fit when i get sc? Thanks for the help:tiphat:

none of them will. sc will come with its own intake system. so just hold off on doing anything if u are going sc

What he said. I'm holding off on a few mods because I know eventually I'm going FI.

Well then I'll give you a pre welcome to the boosted Z world here in KC. It is a little lonely being the only 370z with FI in KC .

tower74 12-18-2012 12:10 PM

I had to do this post because it's post #666 . Also Ethan are you gonna go FI anytime soon?

edub370 12-18-2012 01:05 PM

Still working that one out. Didn't realize that a $16k truck would cost me almost $1400 to get in licensed . So that hurt my wallet and the $220 a month insurance I have to carry isn't helping. Once the checks start rolling in I should be alright but this next couple weeks will help me make up my mind on that one.

edub370 12-19-2012 11:31 AM

side note (non car related), trying to pick up an ar15 lower today... its impossible

Hey guys new to this forum as I just bought my 2009 370z touring today... Im pretty positive I've met a few of u at this years KcSubaru/ Nissan dyno day at Modified, this was my Sti (I got most powerful subaru of the day)

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...886398_n-1.jpg

and this is the new Z, only pic i got as its nasty out and just got done driving it home.

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...221_155446.jpg

The car is deff a different world from the Sti but its not my first RWD car, I love my subaru's but im a nissan guy at heart. Just cant wait til summer again to get it out and have some fun with it.... O and any local Z guys ever want to hang just hit me up, im out in Blue Springs, MO

Nuki 12-22-2012 02:34 AM

Everything is goin ok. Its been way to long since we've gotten everyone together. I'm thinking we should change that when the roads are all cleaned up

Ya car made 318 awhp and 320 awtq (with exhaust leak were header meets head) it should of been around the 330 awhp mark if the leak wasn't there. But im deff not the most powerful suby in the KC metro lol. So i will gladly give the trophy up for "for most powerful subaru" at our next Suby/ Nissan dyno day lol. Well i was trying hard to find a C5 Corvette Z06 but the one i was about to go look at and hopefully buy sold before i got there..... Then i couldnt find any decently priced Z06's within a 500 mile radius. So i started looking at all the cars locally'ish that id enjoy, like the BRZ, FRS, Genisis, 350z and 370z. I like all the cars that i was looking at but with all the other cars compared to the 370z just seemed bland and "VERY" under powered. So i started searching for 370z in a 500 mile radius and as much as i wanted the sport package 370 I found my 370z touring out in Lawrence for a pretty decent deal and fell in love.... O and like i said i have a soft spot for nissans lol.

On another note have any of u 09 guys had problems with the Throw out bearing going bad? My car is at 46k and is still under factory warranty so im hoping they are willing to replace it as im getting a grinding at idle and a clicking noise when im slowing down and leaving the car in gear. Ive had many 240's that had the grinding noise at idle with the throw out bearing and wasn't a big deal but with a 2009 vehicle id figure it'd last a little longer...

tower74 12-22-2012 10:49 AM

:worship::worship:

Welcome. I'm about 10miles down the road from you...Only bring the Z out now when the roads are clean and it's not raining.

I had the RMT STS Z at the dyno dash (black). It put down some sh*tty numbers that day but now it's up to 481:tup: and a blast to drive sideways.

tower74 12-22-2012 10:55 AM

So you mean sometime in March, right Ethan:ugh2:

Nuki 12-22-2012 01:50 PM

Lloyd, you're out near Blue Springs? Dude, lets go get a drink some night.

Oh, btw everyone, I'm KJ'ing (karaoke jockey) out at Garretts again tonight, if anyone wants to come out and sing.

edub370 12-22-2012 02:48 PM

Hey golden bpy, are u sure what u are hearing isn't just clutch chatter at idle? But either way, the factory nissan 5 year 50k warranty should still be good.

And yes Lloyd, its gonna have to get a whole lot warmer and the roads are gonna have to get rained on a few times before my z comes back out of hibernation

Z06WHO 12-22-2012 02:57 PM

Deff throw out bearing at idle and could be clutch chatter while driving... Have to drive it a few more times but like u im waiting til its a little better outside.

edub370 12-22-2012 03:41 PM

Well if you have it out and want a second opinion on it u can shoot me a text and we can meet up so i can check out your new ride. Number is 816-536-0083

Z06WHO 12-22-2012 03:52 PM

Ya man will do what part of kc u live in?

edub370 12-22-2012 03:57 PM

Overland park right now. But over the next week or so i will be up here in the northland visiting family

Z06WHO 12-22-2012 04:48 PM

Ya man ill hit u up, I could use another opinion from another z owner

sboden 12-22-2012 06:00 PM

The 370 and G35 (have and had both) are noisy at idle...it is just the way they are and it isn't a big deal. Edub is the one to listen has he had transmission work done on his, so he has the ear.

Have you got the harness or pulled the fuse on the steering wheel lock problem? As a matter of act, has anyone else. I did the harness. I didn't want to take the chance of it locking up permanantly.

Z06WHO 12-22-2012 06:14 PM

I just saw that thread about the streeing wheel lock problem and I plan on doing the fix for it very soon. I just didn't think the throw out bearing would be so loud and ill have edub370 give a second opinion when we can meet up.

edub370 12-22-2012 07:45 PM

Yea, i wouldn't mind looking at it. On the steering lock issue, i pulled my fuse last year. We took care of zkraken's last month. Better safe than sorry i guess

I live down the road in Oak Grove....Was living in Independece but I didn't have a garage. So I moved to Oak Grove. Already have had issues with the cops here about the car. I have no idea why:rolleyes:. Need to check this thread more often. Where is Garretts?

Plus next week I'm picking up some high flow cats and removing the test pipes. Gotta kill the noise of this car somehow.

Garrett's is out in Shawnee. Wish you guys had been there, it was a crazy party last night. I had as much fun behind the booth as the people did singing crazy isht.

Hey all! I'll be a first time Z owner in OP by next weekend! I just bought a 2010 40th Anniversary...hope this is the last snow of the season, haha.
