Anyone in the area with headers installed?

I'm looking at doing headers but want to make sure it's not too loud and obnoxious. Anyone in the area that might want to come to the Columbia meet-up sometime

The only person I know with headers is Cody, but he lives in PA, and is currently doing a custom turbo build.

Maybe I'm just a no0b but wouldn't the "loud and obnoxious" part really depend on the entire exhaust system and not "just" having aftermarket exhaust headers? I mean, I know it will have an effect on the sound and would probably even help to make stock CBE sound nicer but something tells me the effect will be very much related to what CBE you are running and whether you have a test pipes, high flow cats, or OEM cats.

Cwiz has headers paird with Fast Intentions, he is down at Zdayz this week though but he normally comes out to events we plan here. I think he will be at the Fairfax meet on the 25th.

Its not too loud to me. I loved the noise when I had it on my Ark exhaust. Under 2800rpms was very easy on the ears. Starting around 3krpms that would change to a bit louder constant rumble. Around 4k it would scream like a race car. So it was very pleasing. Loud when I wanted it.

That's awesome to hear personally as I have the Ark CBE. Your description sounds similar to how I feel now so I am just imagining it's probably just amplified and more distinct - which is great.

Which headers did you have paired with the Ark? And did you have high flow cats?

FI long tubes. I have some videos kicking around. I also have a video of the headers on my custom stock exhaust. My custom exhaust was really a straight pipe and ridiculously loud haha.

That sucks. I was looking for a buyer for like a whole month haha.

Anyone looking to have these installed...just know you are in for a fight. Personally after doing my headers and doing EW's HFCs....I can say I prefer the headers. I think his car may be an exception and not all of them are that bad but holy crapppppppppppppppppp.

Also how many here would be interested in a modest engine bay wire tuck/relocation type service? After cleaning mine up quite a bit its really nice now. It does require some drilling/cutting but is really nothing major.

We can laugh about it now, but man, when we were actually working on my car, it was like a fight with Mike Tyson... fuuuuck, what a pain.

It literally was. Like that time my hand slipped and I cut my pinky down to the bone. :|

Seriously though I never imagined that. I think it was just your car though because When I did mine I left the headers/cats as one and never took them apart. I finally took them apart like 3 months ago in 5 minutes. So I don't know how to feel.

I'm running a Stillen CBE, I haven't heard the Ark yet, can I assume they are similar?

The headers are gonna give you more torque, you'll be able to tell the difference.. easily.
