Does anyone remember how illuminated kick plates attach?

I have to remove mine to swap them out with the new ones but I forget how they're attached to the car. I remember the plastic ones being attached with

I have to remove mine to swap them out with the new ones but I forget how they're attached to the car. I remember the plastic ones being attached with little plastic grommets and I just sorta worked around the edge of the kick plate underneath the weather seal until they popped up. Ideas? __________________
