You're still bringing your friend down from Nissan right?

Most likely yeah. He likes the Z's and is always done for some modding.

dmhenderson 08-15-2012 01:36 PM

Need that to be a definite "yes" or I'm definitely not going first. Just as long as we have someone there who has done this to a 370z before I'll probably be ok.

Lol he has never done the headlight mod... That why Khoi is going. The only plus to having him along is for bumper removal and anyone can do that in 10minutes.lol

He said he would go and has every intention of going From my point of view tho...**** happens. I just dont want to promise another person's presence and it fall through.

b1adesofcha0s 08-15-2012 02:10 PM

I don't think anyone of us has done this to a 370Z before. One guy (forgot his username) said he did it to a G37 before, which is the closest we have.

dmhenderson 08-15-2012 02:15 PM

Eh. I'm still in. It's a gamble but I gotta believe we're capable of doing this.

b1adesofcha0s 08-15-2012 02:20 PM

Yeah it shouldn't be too bad. It doesn't look very difficult, it just will take a long time.

Of course we're capable of doing this. Arent any of you guys slightly mechanically inclined? I know I am, I've worked on mitsubishis, hondas, & nissans.. Im not worried about anything, I think this mod should be fairly easy. Thats just me though.

And were you born knowing how to change the oil on a car?

eastwest2300 08-15-2012 04:41 PM

hell yeah I was, thats why I can work on nissans, hondas, and mitsubishis..

I can do oil, transmission, differential, coolant fluid changes on all of them, AND replace the spark plugs, rotors and brakes just to name of the few services I can do. I love it.

Then why the fvck don't you ever install your damn mods, Mr. I can work on my own car? I could have done it on my own if I had tools or space to do it, which I don't living in an apartment. I'd rather have someone else show me how to do it the right way so I don't fvck up my car.

I'll be the first to admit, I've never done springs, and I dont have a spring compressor, trust me, if I knew how to do springs, I would have done my own.

dmhenderson 08-15-2012 06:43 PM

I want to do my headlight shrouds too. Is that going to make things more difficult?

According to you only losers need to be shown how to work on cars. I thought you were born being able to do it. Go buy some spring compressors and get to working on those springs. :gtfo2:

Yeah that's it. Leaving it silver looks weird on a black car. Blue painters tape work for taping it off...?

I had the same company do mine that Jon (ZCarMan) had his done. MRWorks, which unfortunately went out of business after one of the guys got married.

That being said, I'd think it would work, tho.

I think you can take the amber reflector out when you open the lights up.

Talk all you want bro, I've still done more installs than you on the Z. You wanted to troll me about the oil changes so I had to troll you back :tiphat:

You're lucky I don't have my own garage or I would be even further ahead of you :p

b1adesofcha0s 08-15-2012 10:00 PM

Also working on your car means more if you actually drive it and I drive my car way more and harder than you do. Trollmate bro :owned:

You got a couple years head start on me, but give me some time and I'll get there too. You have the advantage in having your own garage. Give me a year and hopefully I should have one too. BTW, let me know when you decide to do the spring install. I'll try to help if I can make it.

I'll believe that when I see it dude. Don't forget, I still hold the record for 2nd fastest stock Z 1/4 mile time. Come out with me to Capitol Raceway one night and I'll show you how it's done :tiphat:

We can have our little race when we get together to do the headlights :stirthepot:

Dude, I dont have a garage, I wish I had a garage, I do all my work outside brother, ask Crux (the other SS guy).. we were sweating it out when I showed him how to do his oil change, then installed that LED underbody kit on my Eclipse.

I do wanna check out the drag strip, I just gotta get the time off..

We'll you at least have your own property. I'm not allowed to do any modding in my apartment complex's parking lot. :p

It is fun at first, but gets boring after a while, especially if it's crowded and you have to wait a long time in between runs. It's best to go when the temps are cooler because you're not gonna have your best time when it's 80*+ outside. 60's and below is when you'll get decent times. I wanna go out there soon now that I have much better tires on the car. I should finally be able to beat my stock time :roflpuke2:
