Hey guys, safely made it to PA last night. Gonna spend the next 2 days unloading the truck, then going to get the car registered and my license changed over to PA. Does anyone know the cost of registration for a Z in PA?

ohhh noooooo.

Cristobal09 03-04-2012 06:09 PM

its been a common issue, ive read disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will SOMETIMES fix it, but most likely its going to need to get towed.

another thing is putting the key into the key thingamajig instead of just laying it in the car

ZCarMan 03-04-2012 06:11 PM

Have him attempt to move the steering wheel and column up and down and then lock it into place and attempt to start then. If it is the steering lock mechanism this might jiggle something inside to at least let him start it. Other thing to try would be to tap the steering lock mechanism plate that covers it. Then attempt to start. If no joy, then may have to get it towed to dealer.

m4a1mustang 03-04-2012 06:11 PM

His steering lock unit needs to be replaced. Hope he's still under warranty...

eastwest2300 03-04-2012 06:16 PM

ZCarMan 03-04-2012 06:16 PM

Man, this is getting me more and more nervous. May have to just get the darned thing replaced on mine. I have until June until my warranty goes.

eastwest2300 03-04-2012 06:17 PM

I wouldn't dare drive to ZDayZ without having replaced the lock.

Thats been on my mind every since the whole issue began to appear. Will likely just get it replaced for the peace of mind and just give the Nissan North America reps a piece of my mind at ZDayZ.

I'm worried about mine too and I may or may not be covered under warranty. I'm passed the 36k mile factory warranty, but I think it may be covered under my CPO warranty.

Brian370 03-04-2012 06:34 PM

He's across the street really, but he's having it towed to Nissan right now, I tried everything, that thing would not start with either key
