Mid-Atlantic Cruise: The Skyline Drive Mega-Cruise

Hopefully I have my carbon fiber front lip on by the cruise, it'll give me that extra downforce for that 35-40 mph range

I'm going on another dry run this Sunday... I'll ask about the need for a permit, and find the good stops between legs. ( )

ok - i'm settled on this route... it was excellent today!

i stopped and asked the ranger at the entrance to the park, no special permits required, but they do like to be informed of large groups... if we tell them ahead, then we might be expecting more patrols..

there was a nice peach orchard that i thought we could stop at, but today it was closed... so maybe not.

this is a fun ride... looking forward to sharing with everyone...

checked with the Park Management, there is no permit required unless we exceed 20 cars.

Great stuff Randy, it looks like we have somewhere around 10 cars so far 12 including the photographers. Would you maybe list the members who will attend the cruise on your first post for this thread? This is starting to look like the last cruise led by Shado

An early leg of the cruise goes by this interesting facility. The mountain top road is beautifully maintained and scenic and curvy. also not traveled heavily at all. Just thought you all might like to read up on whatever is behind the barbed wire and cameras we will be passing

I might be part of this caravan in September. Word of caution though... I was just up at Mt Weather for work and had 2 deer run right in front of me. Awesome drive, just got to keep an eye out for Bambi.

Just an additional note regarding the attendance on this cruise, Vapiano told me yesterday he'll part of the cruise on September 3rd
