I'd want one more fully loaded though. I can't decide whether I want to try and convince my parents to let me buy another car this winter (probably 5.0) or if I should save up for an even better car the following year. Obviously it would be fun to get a different car now, but I feel like I haven't even experienced the true potential of the Z and I would hate to get rid of it before I do. After I do some HPDE's next year with summer tires, I think I can happily get rid of it and move on to something better. I will also be a better driver then and be able to better handle the next level up in performance.

I will NEVER buy a used sports car again. I learned with my m3 and Charger srt8. People dog the sh*t out of them and I got to deal with the issues.

That's where you have to do your HW though. You can find used sports cars in good condition for good prices too. I bought my Z used and it was in absolute mint condition when I bought it. That combined with the fact that I bought it during a snow storm got me a really awesome deal on it. Bought it for the exact amount the previous owner got for it on trade in. $26k for certified used touring 7AT with 15k miles. I could get rid of my car now and I'd only lose like ~$6-8k if you include the cost of taxes/tags/etc. If I had bought it new, that number would be more like $15k.

![]() The Charger srt8 I owned before the m3, only had 14k on it. The transmission went out on it after 3 weeks (fortunately it was covered under warranty still), the catalytic converter crapped out on me after a few months, and the CEL was on ALL the time. I got rid of that after a year. I just dont trust buying a used "sports car" anymore. I have an 08 Honda Pilot that I bought used and its been great, but thats cause the owners before it were a family of 3 and it was just a grocery getter and daily driver. Its also a Honda ![]()

I'm with you on this. Just go to the General section of this forum, look at the threads where people are like, "What's an oil change? Should I do it at 15k miles?", or "I hard launch the car when it's cold", or "I did 150 lololol"
People who drive sports cars are more likely to drive them very hard. You aren't going to go to a used car dealer and inspect engine ports. Most likely, you're gonna check the exterior for obvious signs of damage. Maybe if you're frisky, you'll give the underbody a glance. It's just too risky. I'd rather buy new. |

You will kill yourself in a 5.0.

No I'd totally Steve it! Seriously though, I don't push my car anywhere near it's limits. I know I don't have the driving skills to handle it, but I'm definitely working towards improving them. Would it be any different to start doing HPDE's in a 5.0 vs a 370Z? Regardless of the car, I'd be going at a pace that I feel comfortable in until I know I can go faster.

Must have experience with oversteer if you plan to Steve it. An understanding of low grip surfaces is also preferred. Apply online at Careers.steve.com.

Yeah thats another thing, the stang was super comfortable and super quiet in the non brembo package. Leaps and bounds more comfortable than the Z. I cant comment really on the brembo 5.0 since I was too nervous the entire time of stalling out lol.

The stock seats blow. Recaro or bust.
