It definitely makes sense. Actually Darren has a Rock River, I'll see what hes firing, and go with that.

birdmanx1 09-10-2011 08:24 PM

It looks like tons of fun guys, I missed yet another awesome meet today. I was down in Greenbelt then. Oronde, I had no idea you were going to make it our way man. I'll def make it to the next MD meet and the GTR cruise (After B1ades made all the best arguments ever, he missed his salesman calling )

I'd just go to cheaperthandirt.com for now and sort the 5.56 target ammo by price. Read reviews and order a few boxes of a few different brands that get good feedback and give it a shot.

Also keep in mind the weight of your bullets and the twist of your barrel... I believe some of the more aggressive twists don't like the heavier bullets, but I'm no expert on rifles. You'd have to ask Darren.

Well we really need a new thread for this whole conversation LOL

But yeah, same as everything, you'll save buying in bulk.

But Steve had a good tip.. buy a little of a few different brands, and see what works best for your rifle.

Each gun is different, and as Steve also said, it will depend on bullet weight and barrel twist etc etc.

Personally I use 55grain for the 100/200yrd range, and wouldn't use anything less.

You should ask Darren about his Passion Wagon. He has obviously been putting it to good use... we heard some squeaking today in the suspension already. :roflpuke2:

Yes! Al was saying we should have one after the meet 4 weeks from today. Someone should start organizing it soon. Probably either you or Kirk.

BTW, my swift springs were delivered to Kirk's Garage tonight. Will be there with payment of Krispy Kreme tomorrow night for the install :happydance:

Will do man. You'll need some spacers after the drop

Nah they're too much. Besides I've heard they're not a good idea if you're going to track the car. I'm aiming to hit the track in early spring.

Kirkster 09-13-2011 03:58 PM

You take the spacers off when you are changing your brake pads at the track. You put them back on when you change the pads back at the end of the day...

Oh thats right you have the base brakes. Sucks to be you, instead of pulling two pins out and sliding in new pads you have to take the caliper off... BOOOOOO

Give me your Akebono's. We can do the swap while we are installing the springs. :rofl2:

I'm too cheap to spend $200 on spacers right now. :icon17:

birdmanx1 09-13-2011 05:48 PM

Swift Springs FTW B1ades :happydance: You're going to want to come back and get the spacers ;)

Masa 09-13-2011 06:52 PM

He needs a new bumper first... he can worry about spacers and other mods afterwards. :stirthepot: :icon17:

MightyBobo 09-13-2011 08:12 PM

Weird, I thought he needed a damn oil cooler.
