It's not raining now so there might be a chance. If it's light rain I may still show up.

If you need an idea, I've got a fun suggestion for one that I drove a few weeks/months back.

I got the idea from brian0128's thread of fun driving roads in MD. And this one would be very convenient for NoVA folks close to DC.

St Stephens Church Rd to 5th St - Google Maps

Problem with this route might be defining a beginning and end point with stopping points along the way. But it's very, very fun. North Beach and the surrounding farm land is beautiful.

Going on that GT-R cruise which is up by Frederick, I'll let you guys know how that is. The route is posted on NAGTROC, I'll go find it and post a link in here so you can look at it.

Is it similar to the cruise route we did in Fredneck?

No I don't think so. Here's the thread about the cruise on NAGTROC, there's a map with the planned route on there as well..

Quite right! There are some common roads in the beginning, but this goes in a whole different direction pretty quickly. Yeah, I'm eager to know how it stacks up! And maybe if it's really awesome, we can remap the original for another Frederick cruise that combines the best of both. :excited:

Not that I'm planning cruises or anything. <_< >_> <_<

You didn't see me here.

Why don't you come along? I can assure you I will not be very helpful in any cruise planning so it's best you see it for yourself :icon17:

Same goes for everyone else! Nice drive and we get free lunch! :woot:

Awesome! Will be great to have another Z there

Anyone else interested? We should let them know how many are coming for lunch purposes. Not sure if it's supposed to be some big event or something small.

Kirkster 09-09-2011 07:20 PM

I am planning on being there tomorrow.

shadoquad 09-09-2011 07:57 PM

Ran the reservoirs tonight  God, it was epic awesome. Full length Loch Raven, Falls Rd, Pretty Boy at dusk, back down Falls Rd... Low fog patches from evaporating puddles...

Nice picks Al, thanks.

Looks like you all have been taking parking lessons from Kirkster :icon17:

shadoquad 09-10-2011 02:03 PM

hahaha I was first to arrive and parked like that as a joke. Chris (mdztuners) was next and parked straight, but then Kirk showed up and parked like he does, so Chris moved. And everyone who came up followed suit, except for TROOPER, ZCarMan, and MightyBobo.

When you're in Steve's car, you have to be properly prepared to handle the power. Just do it like I told you:

First, load up on Confidence (tm).

Second, put the car into 6th gear, and then rev car to ~5000 RPM.

Third, pull clutch pedal to about halfway between the floor and fully released. Hold until the smell of burning tires fills your nostrils, and then go for another minute or so, to be sure. It'll be smooth as butter.
