Good to see everyone today. Ling, nice to meet you.

I am paying the price for Todai now. I think I am only good for three plates these days. Chris is unequivocally the Buffet Beast of our group :icon17:

It was 71 degrees driving back to Maryland and it was fantastic! Great to see everyone who could make it today. It was a super day!

lingling1211 01-07-2012 02:39 PM

Good to see you guys today... Todai was delicious :)

Perfect Auto Detail did a pretty good job cleaning up my car so now it's super clean and covered in case it rains...

Also found a pretty nasty ding on my driver's side door as a result of a pebble hitting it on the highway :( Is there anyway to fix it?

I just took it and went on my way. Its just its all the way up in Buffalo and Im not about to have my insurance sky rocket. Fortunately for me, my wife's grandfather (went to her grandmother's funeral) is on his death bed up there so ill have a reason to go up there later this month and can kill two birds with one stone. If he can hang on for at least 3 more weeks im fine, but better not be before or after.

Im going to hell.

God da*&it!!
So I was going to fight this horrendous ticket later this month when wifey's grandfather died, but of course, he decided to kick the bucket today! So I get to take another trip up to Buffalo.

I cant let this a$$clown cop beat me! UUUGGHHH what to do!!??

just pay the ticket and take a hit on my license and watch my insurance go up? Or fight the ticket (and HOPEFULLY win) but take a 16 hour round trip.

Getting points for 3mi over the speed limit is ridonculous, I didn't even get points from my speeding ticket... you should fight it

you could hire a lawyer. I think tickets only effect your insurance if you get them in your state of residence OR a neighboring state if they are collaborative. Chances are NY and MD are not.

edit: My tickets in NC driving home from college back in the day didn't effect my premium.

eastwest2300 01-09-2012 09:50 PM

Chris, fight that damn sh*t!

That's changing. Check out Which states have reciprocal agreements and share speeding?

eastwest2300 01-09-2012 10:02 PM

Greg, thats good information right there.

lingling1211 01-09-2012 10:17 PM

well crap... if OH decides to tell VA about my ticket, I may get points here even if I didn't qualify in OH... :(

eastwest2300 01-09-2012 11:09 PM

Dude, that whole system is a mess.. thats micro management at its finest.

The Driver License Compact came into existence with Nevada becoming the first member in 1960. Organizations in the Western States such as Governors came together to cooperate on traffic safety. Under the Beemer Resolution passed by Congress in the late 1950s, states were automatically given permission to form compacts in the areas of traffic safety. Originally, the Driver License Compact dealt with dangerous driving violations such as drunk driving, reckless driving, commission of a felony involving a motor vehicle and others. Later on, minor violations were included as well. Quite a few states joined in the 1960s but it languished in the 1970s and part of the 1980s. In the late 1980s, there was a push by the AAMVA to get states to join and in the early to mid 1990s, quite a few states joined.

The Driver License Compact is no longer being pushed since it is being superseded by the new Driver License Agreement (DLA) which also replaces the Non-Resident Violator Compact. As planned by the AAMVA, when the Driver License Agreement is ratified by Driver License Compact members, it will be no longer relevant.
