Me!

I got my first call from one of the board sponsors today! THMotorsports (THM) had a post over on my350 that they were looking for 370's for their online magazine. I submitted The Smurf about 3 weeks ago. Kinda figured by now I was out of the running or not even considered. Well, todayI got a call and they want more photos of my car!!

Also, Functioned Tuned wants to fix my Stillen pipe issue....the passenger side is pushed in too far. On top of that.....they want to sponsor my car!!! How cool is that? There's one more piece to the puzzle I don't want to get my hopes up too much about but this saturday at the Starbuck's meet I'll know more as the guys from Functioned will be there again.

:woot: This makes up big time for the curb incident this past Sunday! I won't be driving The Smurf as a daily driver if everything goes as planned. I'll be needing a "driver" to drive The Smurf to local car shows.....apply via PM, please. :p

Very cool! Why do you need a driver? You should be enjoying the car... not having other people drive it for you!

Anyways, Dave is a cool guy. I'm interested in seeing what you guys can come up with down the road.

Haha...yeah, I know. I just need some driving lessons.....well, to be more specific....driving lessons on a lowered car. I CAN'T fug this car up again....I just can't! :shakes head:

Congrats - you have worked hard and spent the money on the mods.

Hope to see you all in two weeks!

You just need to be more careful and pay more attention to what's around you.

If you want to work on building some confidence, you should look around at some high performance driving schools in the area. I bet one of those would do you a lot of good!

Good....no, GREAT idea! I'll be looking into that for real....and hopefully complete the course before Z Dayz. I'd just hide in the closet in Fontana Lodge if I wreck the car driving to Z Dayz. :icon14:

Doubt you will be able to get anything before ZDayZ, but really... just don't do anything silly and you'll be alright!

hazzazi 05-05-2010 12:24 AM

Now imagine you at ZDayZ with sponsors! Like I said, I just want to park next to you at ZDayZ so when everyone is taking pics of your Smurfalicious Z, mine will be that other car behind it.:hello:

Look at the bright side, at the very least, you can help test the impact durability of sponsored materials.

I have no idea.....but I'll find out more this saturday. What it does is causes me to need to get a different car so I don't drive my Z as a daily driver, I bet.

You will probably get deals on parts. The only lousy thing is you are gonna have to stick decals all on your car NASCAR style. :icon18:

You earned it Tony. Unfortunately, I put a subwoofer in my car that propels it forward and thus I will outrun you. I can show it to you this weeknend. :tiphat::driving:

NCSUPACK09 05-06-2010 03:46 PM

^ haha...all I can think of is the Fast and Furious movies where they press the NOS buttons and go get thrown back into their seats...you will have 2 bass boost buttons and when you press them the extreme bass from the subs will send you into hyperspace!

Sscottfitz 05-08-2010 08:02 AM

I apologize to the group -- I'm pretty sure I'm responsible for this morning's rain shower -- barely finished drying Zelda and the wind kicks up and the rain came down -- barely had time to get her under cover. Sorry about that.....

Sorry for the delayed response Tony -- been kinda busy this week. Congrats on both getting the pipe issue resolved AND the sponsor news -- that is great. I'm gonna park on the side of you that Jon isn't so the A.S.S. Roadster gets in some pictures as well....:icon17:

Seriously, that is great news.

m4a1mustang 05-08-2010 08:51 AM

I'm here waiting on y'all to get here.

well the event starts at 11, so maybe we should meet up around 9, and leave by 9:30...and i think starbucks would be the best place to meet up as usual.

:iagree: Sounds good to me. I haven't MapQuest Annapolis Junction yet....I'm guessing it's at least 45 minutes to an hour drive.

tooohip 05-09-2010 03:47 PM

I might drive down to Fairfax to caravan back up to here, LOL!

I agree Tony, looks like its up by Ft. Mead, just off 32 -- I think depending on Sat morning traffic we should probably plan for it taking an hour to get up there. I think if we actually LEAVE at 10:00 that would be about right....

2theextreme 05-09-2010 04:02 PM

MapQuest says 46 miles (57 minutes driving time) from our starting point (Starbuck's):

Driving Directions from 12599 Fair Lakes Cir Fairfax, Virginia to 9015 Junction Dr Annapolis Junction, Maryland

tooohip 05-09-2010 04:24 PM

My money'son 51 minutes... Usually doesn't take me more than 50 to get down there from columbia.

Sscottfitz 05-11-2010 08:31 PM

Just FYI, I met (telephonically) the current president of the ZCCNV Sat afternoon -- seemed like a very nice guy -- called me as a follow-up to a membership application -- anyway, going to my first monthly get together at Kilroy's tomorrow evening (19:00) if anyone is interested. He said they currently don't have many 370Zs in the club although he recently just purchased a 40th Anniversary for himself. Did say there were several folks from the club going down for ZDayZ as well.

Anyway, fyi.....

m4a1mustang 05-11-2010 08:33 PM

Maybe we'll see them on the way down.

Or not.....probably intimidated by them new 370's....:icon17: I do agree that our CruiZ is just about the right size -- anymore and we'd almost have to break it out into a couple of groups.....

I'm really lookin forward to the trip -- should be a great time!

Tony -- fyi, you don't have to join in advance (although I did) -- according to Mike (the prez), you are more than welcome to just stop by and check out the group to see if it is something you are interested in.

You are probably already aware of the site info, but just in case, it is: Z Car Club of Northern Virginia (ZCCNV)

Yeah I've head them on since December. Depending on when you saw the yellow one it could have been me with my stock wheels.
