I got a big "ololno" from Geico, due to a very specific exclusion for being at the racetrack. Almost all insurance companies will specifically exclude racetrack events, regardless of what they are.

Yep if I figured that was the case. Good for folks to know if they are thinking about tracking their Z. Not to discourage but rather just to be informed.

There are some clubs that offer track day insurance for peace of mind. I think SCDA was one of them.

A guy I know was able to get his insurance company (I forget which) to cover his track wreck by getting the track director to write a letter saying the event was a "driver safety class."

That used to work with some insurance companies, but they are getting wise to it now and putting in exclusions for any time your vehicle is on track, regardless of whether it is competitive or not.
