I live about an hour from that track. Thanks for the videos (less the fender bender, sorry about that), being it would be my first time if I went, I got to see the track and how a "track day" works with the track conditions, traffic, passing etiquette, etc. Very valuable info for me thanks again for the detailed footage.

Do you have to have an instructor if it is your fist time?

Its done very well if the drivers are paying attention - we did have some trains though, which was irritating.

Yes, if you do an HPDE and its your first time, you WILL have an instructor. Hopefully a better one than mine haha.

yep, after going over my last renewal with USAA, it now specifically states that any driving on a prepared track, temporary or permanent, is not covered.

USAA is one of the best (for those that can get it) and I have seen them pay out in the past if it was a "driver training" event but I'm sure that now they are under pressure to reduce payouts and insurance cost.

Yep, they didn't have the clause until recently, and when I first started doing these they told they did cover hpde's as long as it wasn't competitive. I think the lambo/Carrera gt crash in Cali a few years ago is what startEd the exclusion clauses
