I'd keep vents to an absolute functional minimum for no other reason than to keep water out of the engine bay. Keep it simple aesthetically. If there's only one design being created, I'd imagine...

It's a 4-cycle engine - 2 rotations. The piston will move to the top twice but only one of those will be TDC (both valves closed).
