I just don't see how even with a bad design a car with 6 miles could fail. I mean that part hasn't even been put under any stress. Perhaps sloppy assembly from the factory led to that one. ...

Follow up on this... 1 year and 10k miles later, I took off all four wheels to inspect the spacers. All four look to be in good shape, and all the nuts were holding their 100 ft/lb of torque. So far...

Manual shifting an automatic transmission = fail. Be a MAN and get an actual tranny that can be shifted. I was just stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour and it didn't bother me one bit...
